Hi there,


My hubby and I are planning to go to Europe for 3 weeks starting in Mid-Dec.

Anyone can suggest places to visit? This is our 1st trip to Europe.

Starting point will be in Paris and flying back from London.

Kindly throw in as many suggest as possible so that I can use it for reference.

Try Harry Potter Attraction iN ST Albans, just outside London (20 min train ride).

I live near Stratford Upon Avon. Go there, it is only 70 min train ride from London.

Try Stonehenge on Dec 21 (for Winter solstice).

Yeah true if u spent only a day or two in a country. We got local prepaid sim in Italy and UK which were much cheaper. Wifi is nearly everywhere in Switzerland and too busy shopping in France so didn't need local data access.

We just got 3 SIMs from AT&T. TMobile is cheaper but they are on 4G and we don't have a 4G phone. If you have a 4G phone, can consider TMobile. We can discuss this further on the Orlando thread if you want.

Local sim with data plan in Europe. That's what we do too. Much much cheaper. :). But then we normally go one country or maybe 2, so it's ok. So for those planning to visit many countries in Europe and spend only a day or 2 in each country, then this may not be a gd idea.[/quote]Thanks dnls and glory mums. We usually fit the local sim on a spare phone.

We normally use my son's iPhone since he has no roaming. :). I you don't have a spare iPhone or smart phone, swap your own SIM card to a spare old phone and use your existing smart phone for the local SIM since you won't be using your SG SIM for data roaming.

Hi anyone got experience if heat pad is necessary for temp between 3-5’c? If so, how many is enough per day


1) For body
2) for palm
3) for foot

I was really kiasu and brought 24 pieces of heat pads thinking that we need them when the temperature falls below zero. But our body somehow got used to the cold and we didn't need them at all even when we were up in the snow mountains where it was snowing and the temperature was below zero.

I will say that a good pair of shoes preferably leather boots, warm undies, cashmere pullover and scarf and a hat plus of course a water proof jacket are more important than the heat pads. Use them once when my dd had to wear short sleeves at 4 degrees for an event. Stuck one under each sleeve and between thermal wear and tee shirts.
