All About Full-Time Maids

Today saw maids gg out with their bf…some hugging n some kissing n recently, there was an article on maid n their bf setting up a tent in the park. This is too ridiculous. I wonder if there is any website that we can upload the pictures of their behavior so that the employer knows what some of their maid are doing during their off day.

I hate maids hugging their bf in public.So disgusting.But what can we do? Next year onwards a must for off day every weekend. Wonder does that equate to more social problems?

I think the question here is why do you disapprove? Is it because they are maids or would you disapprove of 2 Singaporeans hugging in public? If it is the former then it is double-standards. They are human beings and they have needs in the same way that we do. We may prefer it that they don't but that is not reality.

I have been on the wrong side of a maid with a boyfriend so I know it can cause problems but they are not robots. Luckily my current maid says she doesn't see any point in having a boyfriend that won't be a long-term prospect i.e. someone she will marry so she won't go near any foreign workers or Singaporeans

In fact, I had a maid who definitely had a bf. He would telephone her via my landline ( this was lonnng ago, in the previous millenium, before hp became commonplace). I would just hand the phone over to her.
Of course she spun some story, saying he was a relative. But from her body language and tone of voice while on the phone, he was clearly her bf.

My friend’s maid is a good example. Not too long after knowing her bf, lots of excuses starts to happen, starts to go out of the house even in the middle of the night…and not too long after the relationship, she was pregnant and got to sent home.

The idea is yes, they are human, but bear in mind of the fore coming issues that may arises in which most of them will choose to ignore at the courtship time.

No fine if you don't tell. I figured it out, found her replacement who she trained then her boyfriend paid for her ticket home!

This is my first time employing a maid. The purpose is mainly to take care of my mother in law as she is weak and needs someone to take care of her. I visited two Maid agencies for the past few days.

One of them has only bio-datas of the maids. The other has all the maids in person available ( these are either transfer maids or contract ends maids). As these maids are available who can start work immediately. I was very keen and interviewed a few maids . however i was astonished when all of them insisted that I gave them one Sunday off. some requested for public holiday off too.their salary is $550- $600/mth. Some of them even request that they are not keen to take care of my elderly but my kids at home. I spoke to the agent and she cannot help and request that I walk in again on Sunday to pick the maid again. Find the agent is not friendly and helpful. Can someone recommend a good agency that has maid available for selection, please.

Javkeschan, sigh! Unfortunately this is the current situation now. Maids get to choose and pick their employers. Not many maids are willing to take care of elderly or babies. I suggest if you may want to give them more perks to attract them.

I have seen gatherings along the beaches of a big group of foreign male workers with a handful of females that look like FDW. The males clearly outnumbered the females and the males were taking turns to kiss and hug the females in front of all the other males and the rest of us on the beach. Free entertainment?


On another occasion, one female and one male were walking side by side joint at the hip and as I overtake them during my jog, the female was telling him "I choose you not XX because XX not as handsome as you"… puke.

There are really more and more of them and coupled with the off days rule, can lead to messy situations. I noticed that more neighbourhood shops are selling Indo and Fili products too. E.g. papaya soap, feather shampoo… To cater for the increase demand in such products.
