      Hi,

      2. No, not everyone is offered 3rd language. Top 10% offered all the 3rd Lang, including french, German and jap. Then the next x% will be offered only Malay, Arabic, etc.

      Just curious.

      Top 10%, what is the t-score? Above 260 or 250 or 240?

      250[/quote] :thankyou:

For Janet and those with younger ones waiting their turn for the PSLE, it is paramount that you demonstrate strength in the face of such setbacks because those younger ones might pick up the negative vibes which inadvertently will add a little more stress when their turns come around. And it is also important to assess and act and not pile more stuff on those younger ones just because the performance of the elder ones was unexpected. Always remember every child is different.

I always feel parents like Janet who have the courage to post their setbacks on forums will have the same spirit to pick themselves and their children up and move on. And to move on in the right direction, one has to assess, reflect and rectify. There are more important milestones to overcome and it is imperative that a child grow to appreciate that life is not a bed of roses, and neither is life a bunch thorns; it is a journey where there will be victories as well as setbacks.

Someone once said this to me a long time ago when I asked how is life: " Life is a series of problems, lah". I take this to mean life is full of challenges which one has to take on at various stages. How true this short reply.

            Just my 2 cents worth.

Did your dd apply to NUSH via DSA? NUSH accepts the majority of their students via DSA. In the past, the prerequisite for students who wish to apply via PSLE scores is a minimum A* in Science and Math plus a minimum T-score. You might want to call the school to find out the details.

Application form for NUSH is here: https://oas.highsch.nus.edu.sg/OAS_Phase2/default.aspx

              Details here: http://www.highsch.nus.edu.sg/content.php?id=1f0e3dad99908345f7439f8ffabdffc4#

Actually more impt to see % of students getting above certain pts. What so great abt a school who produce one or two top scorers but the rest get below national average pts?

for parents with autistic children struggle, they can cry when they read about He Weijun.

I hope ST reporters can invite his parents to share, so as to give HOPE & SUPPORT to all autistic parents.
