COP 2012 - For Secondary Schools in 2013

I would also like to add a point. Anderson has normal stream, although the COP for express stream is high. On the other hand, CGS is a all express school.

Hi WeiHan,Hi,
I suggest that you put Crescent as first choice. Should it happen that you don't get crescent, you still stand a chance to appeal if you have placed it as first choice. The COP of schools will definitely rise this year.
could you share with us why you think the COP of schools will definitely increase this year? is it becos there are more students who did well as compared to last year?
thanks. -

The T-scores is definitely generally higher this year couple with the fact that there are 3000 more students. The COP of better schools will increase. I read that more than 40% of students have t-score more than 240. That mean the 24X schools are going to enjoy a boost also.

If you remember, 27X was so rare last year. This year, each schools count by dozens. -
Consider a scenario : A scored 235 and choose ABC School as 3rd choice. Another child, B has a similar score as A but put ABC School as 1st choice. Assuming A failed to secure a place both in 1st and 2nd choice school and now left with 3rd choice. Which child would have priority to be placed first at ABC school or the chances will be the same based on merits of their scores ? Tks

This is not speculation! Look at the eligibility. Gep has a different criteria. That is the fact!!
What I highlighted is what I'm referring to.
Answer to your question to me: this post.Peony:
Parents,
Please continue to post until the cop for eesis offer for non gepper is conclusive.
Thanks!
Sorry, to me, we already know from page 1 of the thread that it's 262 for non-Geppers.
I'm not referring to Geppers.
Hence, why I refer to such remarks (the one i highlighted) as \"speculation\".
Anyways, it's just my opinion. No offence intended. I'm a first time PSLE parent. -

Is base on perception. I do consider the fact that EESIS is one point higher than last year. If you mention 10% is at 249 which is same as last year, then the COP for 24X schools should be about same as last year. High 25X and 26X schools will have COP 1 point higher. -

Base on merit. But putting first choice shows that you like the school alot and has an advantage for appeal case since appealing is left to the discretion of the school. -

My feel is that o level cop for the new ip schools will go up due to the allocation of classes for the ip. These will have a flow over effect on 24x schools. Ip cop might start off lower than the VS 255 points cop due to more spaces available.
No idea on the high 258 and above schools as chances are many of the high scorers would have already dsa-ed into the schools..... -

I was asking around and if I am not wrong, if your child has been admitted to school which is not IS school, he/she will not get the EESIS regardless of his/her score since he won't be given a chance to select an IS school. Giving out the EESIS form to such student will be a waste of paper. Unless your child has not been offered any schools yet and he/she is good enough for an IP programme in an IS school, then he should get a EESIS form but then again, we are not sure what was the cut-off point here.EESIS is blind to gep or non-gep
isn't supposed to be given to the top one thirdth of the IP cohort in IS ?
if you have 285 but join NJC, then no EESIS for you because NJC is not IS
Just my thought. Anyway, my view is this, if gov wants to give you the EESIS, you will get it, if not, no point trying ways to get them as it's likely to be a waste of effort.
Rgds
