How about TKPS and Ngee Ann primary? What's the quality passes and the number of students over 250?

      Anyone knows?
Hi, my neighbour told me (but not verified source, so not sure) that Ngee Ann got more scorers scoring 250 and above compared to TKPS. I think its a norm every year

Shocking! If this is true, wonder if our newspaper should have reported on this?

Hey that may be right! But last year 2011 both schools had equal number above 250.

So does that mean that no of this schools will update their websites this year?
with this forum, the principals of some schools who didn't want to announce the top scorers in their school, wonder how they feel. Parents ask they refused to tell. Come on be open minded.

you know why Principals of such schools don't wish to disclose ?
because scared they malu, esp. when highest score is low. Then nobody want to enrol their child in that school. That's why many of them want it hush hush, want to sweep it under the carpet.

To them, if public don't know, if parents don't know ... better still. Many of them are so secretive - esp. when come to Quality percentage passes, subject by subject. They dare not post openly on their school website. They know that parents who are concerned for their kids will come to them as Head of school - hey P, what's wrong with this or that subject ?

come on man! if you're Principal of a school, you should be bold and open. What's there to hide ? If any subject in your school is particulary weak, then as Head of the school, you should go and find out, troubleshoot exactly where gone wrong, what went wrong ? is it the curriculum of that particular subject in your school not strong enought (yet to improve), or those teachers teaching that particular weak subject not motivated to teach pupils well, or any other reason(s) ?

Well, as Principal of a school, he /she should be bothered to go and find out. Not act as quiet as a mouse - dare not publish Quality %tage passes for their school. Some schools even worse - not a single webpage on any academic info is disclosed.

            :goodpost:
How this is a good post beats me. :?

Schools are bound by rules and guidelines set forth by MOE, and Principals etc are but servants of this establishment. It is hard to put blame on such servants who must act with discretion and restraints, especially when the directive put out was so sudden and a little vague.

We are only concern that Dhs as 2nd choice might show that we are not sincere 😓

No worries. Schools have no feelings; only humans do. In fact, it is the MOE system and not schools that will allocate places based on merit, and you can bet that that system also does not have feelings. 😉

We thought the school individually select us base on our application  didn't know it is done at HQ computer system. 😓

No wonder we saw a post saying that 1 & 2 choice should put those schools that we don't qualify and 3 & 4 choice with our achievable schools.

              Is it true?

How can this happen? Its absurd. Imagine the damage done to the gal if she got a lower score. Can someone advise me if I shud pay and check my son’s paper? Cos based on my son’s standards he should have gotten a better score.

Or at least publish their quality%passes in their own school website.. 1 or 2 top scorer don't count.

                  Don't :spank: me

When all other things fail, blaming is the last ball game ? The world is at fault, obviously. :skeptical:

                        I agree with phttph. :goodpost:

It's ok not to disclose top scorer etc but there is really nothing to hide about quality passes. Parents should have every right to know the performance of their DC's school. If some schools really could not produce results, then parents know they need to quickly engage additional support from enrichment classes. My point is be TRANSPARENT about the school performance. This also helps parents in making better choices for P1 registration.
However, please split GEP and mainstream in order to compare apple to apple.
