Is it? I was not sure so put ? after 1984.
Thought first 'gifted' batch was 1983 sec 1 based on PSLE results? :scratchhead:SAHM_TAN:
I have never trace whether family GP is GEP grade or not. My ds' surgeon I also didn't ask GEP or not. But then again, I think they missed the GEP screening lah since only started 1984?
Is that the qn to ask next time? -
I also didn’t ask if they were from RGS, RI, Hwa Chong, RJC.

30 to 40% maybe?[/quote]30-40% of a cohort in NYGH for instance would be about 120-160 students? I seriously doubt that there are that many foreign (China) students in one cohort.
What in your opinion constitutes a high proportion?jtoh:

Their overall numbers might be small in proportion to the whole cohort but i'm curious what is their composition in top schools like Hwa Chong, NYGS, RI, RGS, GEP programs or successful DSAs either by academic or Chinese instruments. If the proportion in top/IP schools are high then are there enough places for locals to join the top JCs like HCI or RI? Judging from the COP of 3 points from 6 subjects I think not easy.

Sensitive? I more like fed-up.
Singaporeans are the ones not giving ourselves a chance.
For example, a singer need to make it big overseas before we give due notice.
The linkage is there, it’s not off-topic. -

Anyway doesn't really concern me, me and my kids did PLSE a while back. Just wondering why our locals kids let them beat us at our own game and why there are so loopholes not plugged. The issues are too sensitive to discuss openly I guess.

I give free tuition to low income family at a charitable organisation. From time to time, students from Rgs and Hwa Chong come to do CIP. Most of the students from Rgs are Singaporeans while those from hwa Chong, 6 JC students are all from China n here on scholarship since secondary school days.
Just for comparison which schools most of the foreign students go to. -

Isnt foreign scholars spread out among the schools? I dont think its any individual schools initiative but rather are allocated by moe.I give free tuition to low income family at a charitable organisation.
