What is the advantage of taking HCL and 3rd language in NUSH? Is HCL much tougher compared with CL in there? TIA.
-
May I know how much is the monthly school fee & what is last yearβs COP for NUSH? Will the school CV consider my son if he gets A* for Maths & Science but only A for his languages?

Advantage of taking HCL is you get to take your 'O' Level CL in Year 3, 'O' Level HCL in Year 4, after which if you manage to pass, you do not have to take Chinese any more in Year 5 & 6, meaning you do not have to take 'A' Level Chinese.
Advantage of taking 3rd Language is you get to enhance your CAP if your 3rd Language is good.
Yes, HCL is tougher but it's the same for all students taking HCL in other schools as well.
MT is the only national exam in NUSHS.

Not sure about 3rd Lang because DS1 never opt to take, he 'hates' languages.

For NUSH the CAP is 5 max.
The third language centre (MOELC) has shifted since mid last year to Bishan.
NUSH offers some third languages in campus for a fee of $100 pm. Anyone can take it (ie no need to go by t-score for eligibility). You can find it on the school website. -
My kid goes to Newton MOELC.
Thought NUSH will be in Buona Vista MOELC. No wonder I see so many NUSH in Bishan MRT on certain days. -
Sun_2010:
No, there are two centres, one at Bishan and another near Newton (previously at Ghim moh).octoberbaby:
