Check your PSLE result slip

I observed that, too. There was a post after GLORYmum's post on pg1, before alng second post but it has been deleted.
GLORYmum:
Eh why some posts on this thread are missing ?

Hi alng, I posted re my skeptism not to cast doubt on what you have heard. Rather, I find it hard to believe Seab actually made such a mistake and if true, was not reported by the press. To me, this is a big issue as credibility of Seab as an exam board is at stake.
alng:
I am equally shocked when I heard that error. But there is no reason why my girl's good friend would lie to her. My girl saw her friend's result slip on Thursday but her friend's T score has changed now. Both T scores were 26* and difference of 4 points. Girls do not interrogate their friends...so I have no other information.
The purpose of writing is to alert parents to check their child's PSLE result slip, whether or not what I have heard is true or not. I have alerted my friends to check too.
Many have also told me that their child's results are below their original expectations. Well, my girl is in the same situation too but I think she has performed within the range of expected performance (just on the lower end of that range). Whether you wish to get your child's PSLE results checked is really up to you. If the name and PSLE index number on the PSLE result slip tally, I do not think the results will be changed.
Unless MOE/SEAB made a lot of errors and many students are affected, I do not think MOE/SEAB will make any announcement on this. -

No worry as I am not offended by your message :-). I have never stated this is a confirmed truth. I titled this forum as \"Check your PSLE result slip\" and not \"SEAB made a mistake in PSLE result slips\"....LOL, the second title will be quite sensational....
I am shocked because we have never heard of such error before. But come to think of it, never heard does not mean never happened. Human and system errors are possible in all the processes in processing the T score. With the high stakes parents placed on PSLE, SEAB should have all the controls in place to minimise (note not eliminate) these errors. -

U hv stated some facts such as the name of yr
dd classmate was not a common name etc which I read as supporting facts of yr claim n that a mistake on her result slip has deprived her from 4 more points. I gather Wat u hv posted about the mistake is a fact n truth? Or u r staring hypothetically that such mistake could happen but u r unable to confirm the truth at time of posting yr warning ??
I like to clarify cos Yr posting about an incident has led to discredibity on the exam board of Singapore and we cannot take this matter lightly as it concerns the future of 48333 dc. -
SEAB entertains appeal mah? they will just sweep under the carpet, a week later will simply inform ‘sorry’.
Don’t really believe their credibility. Unless they invite us to view the actual papers. -
GLORYmum:
I have such details does not mean I can confirm 100%. No one can confirm 100% unless you have the two PSLE result slips (original and reprinted) as evidence. I am quite sure if a reprinted result slip is issued, the original result slip has to be returned.

I am shocked. Do I believe? I must say yes because I have no reason to doubt. I personally ever experienced re-printing of results for report book too. If errors can be made for a couple of hundred students, why not for 48,333 students. The difference here is the high stakes parents place on PSLE. If we are having reactions over 1-2 errors, who else would dare to post some news? I may get arrested for creating social unrest! -

Yeah, Shocking!
That reminds us, common sense checks are a must for important matters. Even when the probability of errors is extremely low. (The baby swap case is an example of this too. )
I am just wondering since this should be automation , how the index number was linked with the wrong name?
Are the two girls rom the same school and class? -
Alng, so is it true that yr dd’s classmate had her result slip reprinted and got 4 more points?
-
It is not surprising that the press has not reported it. Unless they were tipped off via a concerned member of the public or if SEAB sent them a press release, how would they know? One source is of course thru the grapevine or ksp parents. So they get info from us. Not us from them. For all you know, the reporters have picked up on this and are reporting it soon. alng, you might be getting a PM from a reporter any time.
