Tks koguma. I also think the sch COP will not drop so drastically ! Oh serious, can skip N and go O ? ds wants to go express so we have to choose sch in woodlands/sembawang/yishun area. Tks.

      From 2006,
      a) Schools may allow their top N(A) students to progress to Secondary 5 N(A) without taking the ‘N’ Level examinations.

      b) Selected N(A) students may offer a maximum of any two GCE ‘O’ Level examination subjects at Secondary 4.

There are more changes to NA course which can be found in the MOE website >>

In my opinion, if can go express, better to choose express. Who knows, he might be motivated enough to work harder next year.

But he will be having 8 -10 subjects in Sec? What happen if he is not motivate enough or couldn't cope with the syllabus? Talk to the child before making the decision. Is he willing to work very hard?

Hi.. We spoke to him and also asked him to decide by giving advice to him. He promised to work hard and i hopefully he really meant it :xedfingers:
We like Naval Base Sec but COP 200 means unlikely he'll get in. What do you think of Woodlands Sec sch ? Thks.

Hi, below are some recommendations, based on the COP and the median score. I recommend that you check out the schools website to find out more about the schools. I have a quick glance and I find FuChun Sec seems not bad. It even allows its student do Pure Literature, which is not common in neighbourhood schools.

For Woodlands Sec sch, although its top student enters with a COP of 245, but it has the lowest median score.

Btw, personally I prefer schools to have more express classes. If the school has only 2 express class, I will not choose the school.

              FUCHUN SECONDARY SCHOOL ; COP: 188 - 223; median 199
              SEMBAWANG SECONDARY SCHOOL ; COP: 188 - 227; median 198
              NORTH VIEW SECONDARY SCHOOL ; COP: 188 - 227; median 198
              NORTHBROOKS SECONDARY SCHOOL ; COP: 188 - 232; median 198
              NORTHLAND SECONDARY SCHOOL ; COP: 188 - 220; median 196
              WOODLANDS SECONDARY SCHOOL ; COP: 188 - 245; median 196

If you don't mind AMK area, you can consider these 2 schools as well.
              CHONG BOON SECONDARY SCHOOL ; COP: 188 - 220; median 203
              YIO CHU KANG SECONDARY SCHOOL ; COP: 188 - 223; median 200

Hope the info are useful to you. Don't miss the registration date !
