hey,confuseddad:
Hi,
need some advise from the gurus here
my daughter did 234 in recent psle and she really likes/want to go to Nan Hua
So I have this list in mind...
Any suggestions if this list makes sense?
TIA
1) Nan Hua
2) Commonwealth
3) Fairfield
4) Clementi Town
5) CHIJ St Theresa's
6) New Town
Thanks again

as the gap between nan hua's COP and your daughter's score is 9 marks off, the chances are incredibly slim. unless you appeal, and the school is willing to accept a student with 9 marks off the COP. also, since both commonwealth and fairfield have a higher COP, it is incredibly risky. also, even if your daughter's marks are higher than that of clementi town and chij as well as new town, your daughter may not be accepted as spaces may have already been taken up. it's rather risky.
nonetheless, if you're willing to take the risk, go ahead. however, my advice is that most likely, your daughter wouldn't be accepted to nanhua. as for commonwealth and fairfield, maybe, maybe not. you may still have to appeal.
good luck

I understand where you are coming from..
It just seems difficult to narrow down other choices to fit dd's cop within range. -

I think your 4-6th choice should be well within your kid's range although we must bear in mind that it is the Dragon year. Hence, competition may be slightly stiffer. All the best anyway![/quote]yea this dragon year more competition thingy is really getting to me.

am in two minds to believe in it or not
any suggestions for other choices of schools that are safer choices?
TIA -
kamom:
yes most likely moving Commonwealth up to 1st.Nan Hua is really risky. In my opinion, I suggest that you put Commonwealth as 1st choice and appeal. Chances of getting in thru appeal is higher when you have placed them as 1st choice.
Commonwealth is very impressive and not forgetting their million dollar view of the sea
Million $ view of reservoir

Hv u considered Kranji Sec? It's a V gd neighbourhood sch.
Band 4 these few years but this yr jump into Band 3.
May I know hv u called Fairfield Sec to ask if u put it as 2nd choice, does sch entertain appeal?
U see, there are some Schs that only consider appeal if u place their Schs as First choice.
Don't forget, Fairfield has its own affiliation students try'g to appeal
in too which the sch may consider them first b4 u ESP if sch finds out u only put it as 2nd choice.
But if u really like Commonwealth, put as num 1. -
You should let your daughter to choose also

Hi confusedad,
I have posted before and would like to recommend again for kranji sec school. Itβs all rounder and you will be surprise the school push their students to higher limits. -
What about TKGS (233). I think you should put in school with COP 230-ish in option 3, then move down the rest. JMHO
