My ds got a t-score of 250 with A* in maths and A in science. Is it possiible for him to get into NUS. I know it is very hard to get in. Advice pls..

Previously, NUSH required students to score at least A* in both Math and Science and a T-score of 250 (if I remember correctly). I'm not sure if they still have these minimum requirements. I would say your chances of getting in are very slim. But I suppose you could give it a shot as it's a separate application process from S1 Central Posting.

with increase of subjects to 8-9 at sec 1, i wonder if my son is able to take cca which doesn't require him to stay back often ? my concern is with the longer hours, he will need time to adjust and cope with the changes.

Not surprising everyday reach home 5 or 6 pm or 7pm. If sch and home distance is near, the child should be home by 5pm.

For kids doing O-levels, I think to be well-involved in CCA is important, bc it adds to their additional A1/A2 grade for their eventual O-level score!

should put scgs ip as second choice

then st nick o level 3rd, scgs o level 4th.....eventually all the same after 4 years if you do well in the IP program

U can look at the school guide book issue to your DC. U may look at secondary school with higher cop and also taking travelling distance as a impt factor for selection.

School hours not that long leh. It's the CCA hours that are.

eg. my boy's classes end by 1.45pm or 2.30pm. CCA starts at 3.30pm to 6pm (3x a week!). My eldest girl had similar school timing when she was in secondary school - similar type of secondary school (just not same school). Sometimes CCA ends at 7pm, but not always.

The actual school hours not much longer than primary. Their primary school ended at 1.30pm last time.

This is in mainstream O-level schools lah. My no.2 who is in IP has longer hours (not including CCA).
