actually, what do our 2007 needs to know before going P1 in 2014 ?


(1) read - in what level
(2) write - words only ?sentences only or like essay ??
(3) speak chinese and english… fluently ? chinese may be a prob for mine.
(4) maths - what needs to know ? add/sub/mul ??
(5) social skill- thk most can socialise…

anymore? to prepare??

i intend to start spelling for my girl on weekly basis starting Jan… 1 word per day then 5 words per week kinda plan… cos her school dun do spelling.

maths- can add… sub still not there yet… mul i only get her to recite and do grouping concept… divide still long way to go… now is getting her to know how to buy food and get change…

chief posted once on what's required for P1. After going thru P1 with dd1, I agreed with him. Here's the link.

To add on fr experience with dd1.

For maths, if cannot count to 100, then must clear 50. 100 is only covered in P2.

Multiplication and division is term 3-4. Time I think was term 3.

I do not set a reading level. I try to increase reading proficiency as much as I can. So for ds, the aim is to complete Peter and Jane series by this yr.

Penmanship is important.

For dd1's school able to write 5 - 8 sentences for a topic is good enough.

Chi term 1-2 is HYPY.

Reading again the same principle of reading as Eng. For chi I use si wu kuai du as guide.
