Just wana say hi! My gal next year will be P4 and boy in P3.Dear parents,
My 2 kids go to Punggol Primary - I am very glad we chose this school. My children love school. I never had problem with them saying they do not like to go to school. The teachers concentrated on giving children lifeskills - like learning to work with other people, orgnasing themselves, having self discipline and being responsible and said if this skills were practiced the grades would follow.
The school also subsidises programs like Composition writing course for P5/6 students/ Speech and Drama for P2 students. There is a buddy reading system where P2 students help P1 students read better. There is a group of mothers who volunteer to help really weak children learn sight words/phonics and basic reading. My kids study Tamil - and I find the Tamil teachers caring and really trying hard to reach out to the kids to be interested in the language. I think PPS performance in Tamil is usually better than national average.
I find this is a school with a heart. I would definitely recommend this school. For people expecting lot of homework and academic pushing, lots of papers etc - this may not be the right choice. But for people looking for holistic development with a good focus on academics - its a great school . -

Hi all
My son is in PPS P2 this year.
Nice to 'meet' everyone!
Just wana say hi since it is holiday period for kids. -
I had complains from my boy at p4 throgh the year. He said that sometimes homework too much and he is very stressed. When i checked his school diary i found that his homework included 2 prac papers to be done by the next day. I find this a bit too much. Dont know if its the same for the other class but I hope that its not the same next year.
