I just discovered this thread and read it with interest.

When ever I see anything written about myopia, I just have to read it.

My DD’s power increased by 100 in 9 months (for right eye). Now 325.

Anyone bought myovision lens (for yr kids) recently? How much does it cost? Or the range?

Does this lens really help?

I doubt if it is harmful, but sunlight has proven to be beneficial in preventing myopia, so I try my best to get my daughter outside for a couple of hours a day.
She sometimes does her homework outside while I read a book to keep her company. If you can find the time to do that it can be very special.
Now they are building a new condo next door, and the noise has driven us to nearby McRitchie Park.

This is really interesting, I haven't heard of it before.
Here are some quotes I dug up:
\"The lens was tested as part of a two-year trial, which started in 2007 and involved 800 myopic children - 700 from China and 100 from Australia - aged six to 14 years.\"
and...
\"The lens, called MyoVision, has been shown in a study to slow the progression of myopia in children aged six to 12 years by 30 per cent on average.

For example, this means that a child who wears spectacles with the lenses will have his degree of myopia increase by 35 degrees in a year, instead of by 50 degrees for children wearing spectacles with normal lenses.\"
The only bit I am worried about is the lack of independent trials. It's not such a good idea to trust the results of trials organised by the company who is marketing them.
Still worth looking into more tho...
