They dont... BYO -
micollh:
we can bring own food up on budget airline? as i check on the food they offer.. no appetising la.. thiking GC /Sydney next year
Officially not allowed la... but after travelling so many times on budget carriers, I think the air crews all get quite tired of telling passengers off.. and most will be glad to clear the rubbish (probably they dont want you to stuff it in the front seat pocket?)
Observed more and more paxs carrying their own food... but be discreet and dont bring your full BK or Macdonalds meal onboard. Sandwiches and kuehs should be fine. Remember dont bring water because you wont be allowed to go past the security.... if you want, you can bring empty bottle and fill it up inside the gate or on the aircraft. -
Wonderdad:
Get an empty plastic bottle or plastic cup. You can take water from the Dispenser near the toilets. When we went to GC in Nov, the crew said there is no drinking water and we need to buy. But, later we found out this was not true.micollh:

One small bottle of Evian cost $4. Instant noodles also cost $4 (if I remember correctly). You can bring your own food, but be discreet.
If you want to buy food later in the aircraft and if didn't pre-order, you may not get it as they have limited stocks.
Buy travel insurance also. When we came back from GC, the flight was delayed for almost 6 hours! -
Red-eye Scoot is a no-go for me. Took it to Taoyuan Airport. Couldn't get a decent shut-eye. The seats are about the same as the other carriers... but not as comfortable. i can't put my finger on it. maybe they're abit thinner somehow, or they don't sink your body in that well. i felt that Air Asia's seats were older but abit better. Also i think it was because the young lady next to me wore very strong perfume. :siao:
Coming back we took an afternoon flight. when they dimmed the cabin lights the lady (yes another young one, must be my lucky day) next to me left her reading light switched 'on'. She was on aisle i was in centre. being tall, the light just went straight into my eye. no shut-eye on this flight for me either.
but the service is better. the infrastructure isn't so good though, the crew have to deal with very little. for example when, when they clear your trash, they have to use this really shallow tray. after about 10cm of trash guess what happens when they pile more? everything drops to the floor... no fun man... but there was nary a scowl throughout the flight.
thumbs up for that. -
Just fly to Gold Coast on Dec 2012 with my Family. I do agree the food serving do take a time. But everything was great, the sitting place area is wider than other budget airline. The staffs do not bother about us when we are eating our own fruits.
Sure will fly with Scoot again. -
Most likely will be taking scoot for my next Taipei / Aussie trip after all the reviews from everyone.
Thanks

can we bring pram onto budget airline? itβs not part of luggage right?

Thanks for sharing!
Now it's to plan where to go. Should it be Taiwan or Goldcoast? Hmmm...
Would love to go Goldcoast again, mainly for the theme parks but I heard it's quite run down.
In 1996, when we join the tour, we have to Q for the rides. But in 2004, there wasn't any Q at all.
Can share your experience, especially for those who recently been there?
Besides, the beach and the theme parks what else did you do there?
As for Taiwan, we never been there. Need to do some research
