          Snow Crystal:
          phtthp:

          across all schools in SG -

          from P6 entering into Secondary 1:-
          IP programme never affliated.
          only those with high score(s) get in.

          but O level track can be affliated, in some schools.

          from end of Sec 2 Express stream trying to seek transfer into Sec 3 IP -
          can try.
          But note that local Singaporeans will be competing with overseas Asean scholars, for limited Sec 3 IP places.

          One IP has affiliation - NYGH.
          NYPS girls with 250 and above can enter its IP program via affiliation route.
          Thus the S1 seats are always more limited.

          Other IPs with affiliated pri school but no discount for affiliation into IP track include: ACSI, SJI, St Nics, SCGS, MGS, CHS etc.

          Dual track schools do not give discount to IP track. Affiliated pri schools can go O level track. NYGS does not have O level track.

              Thks blurberry, I also believe onsponge is good, it was after june that the class teacher asked them to do it, and rushed through it. They didn’t manage to finish the book, which was quite a waste. Since it was the teacher who requested them to get the book, I thought the teacher would be actively do it, even earlier.

              Now that my dd2 s book list has the on sponge , I hope it ll be put to good use.

                That’s a bit too rushed because some of the OnSponge methods need a bit of getting used to. The school introduced it to the banded classes at first. After that they tried it on selected students fm non-banded classes who were a bit stronger in Maths. My girl was fm the 2nd category.

                  The lowest score is 43. So is he or she consider "it’s the end"!!!?

                    there is affiliation for IP

                    for NYGH, if the NYPS girls get 247+3 or 248+2 or 249+1, or 250+0 or higher they are assured of a place in NYGH if they place NYGH first choice even when their COP has been 26+

                      It's the end only if he/she gives up trying. There's still Northlight school for those who need a different curriculum.

                        hearsay that this year got 40% scoring between 240 to 249

                        so got 87.7% scoring from 240 or higher ! now which school comes close this this ?

                        I'm quite keen to know where the source of the hearsay comes from. The school didn't reveal the number of students scoring 240 and above. Unless it's a teacher from Nyps who says it, I'm not going to believe it. The school's average t-score is 239. If 87% scored 240 and above, the average should be higher than 239, I thought.

                        Rains, do you happen to have percentage of quality passes (A/A*) for NYPS 2012? Do you know 2011 average?[/quote]% that secure DSA offers 30+% (GEPpers only 20+%)

                        A+A* for :
                        math = 81+%
                        sci = 84+%
                        eng = 87+%
                        CL = 96+%
                        HCL distinction = 23%
                        HCL passes = 97%

                        the above is the average for recent years
