      qms:

From the newspaper report, it says that PRs make up only 8% of the total school population. I wonder how far is this number for primary level? :?

I heard lots of foreign accent among the parents volunteers but they may have taken up citizenship so not under the 8% PR

Hence, impression wise, we thought there were more PRs in school? just my wild guess 😉

In this case, 2010 P1 Registration would be very exciting to watch. Guess I won't go into any PV for other schools. Just sit back relax enter in Phase 1. In theory, it would be affecting from Phase 2B onwards.

was so happy when i saw the news yesterday.

i think at least the govt has taken steps to address the feedback from citizens..

i know of many PRs who goto 2B because of religion ... eg SJI, ACS...and they get in .. at least now citizens will have a slightly better chance yah ?

thanks to all who have written to newspaper forum to feedback. it has made a difference 🙂

It helps but not a lot. Since this only applies when there is a balloting situation, it means as long as the PRs stay within 1Km or 2km, they will be in, leaving the citizens staying out of the 2km to ballot for vacancies.

Actually, I think the government is trying to take small steps at a time. It's better than current status, right?

Which come back to what we have been guessing - ELECTION is coming up! 😉

At least there is a policy made different for being a citizen. 😄

Think it only helps a little.

No use if all the rich PR buys the properties within <1km>1km.

Worst if they actually ‘buy’ the slot from the school.

Still think they shd exclude PR from 2B and 2C.

If PR wants their child in good schools and then take up citizenships

Namie has pointed out correctly! I second to Namie. The little tweak will only give a little additional chance but it does not change the fundamental in the procedure of enrolling your children into Primary.

:celebrate: totally agree with you, especially on the Election portion. Been seeing more MP appearances these days too.

yes. thus we should not sit back & relax (since we are kiasu parents) and continue to try to get into earlier phases and avoid balloting.
