... This is foolish. The lodging cost can only explain the difference in starting pay, not the that in pay increment! But that is exactly what SMRT management tries to make ppl believe. I hate elite fools ppl.

What is the difference between pay structures for determining the basic pay and annual increments? Do pay increments not end up as salary for staff?

I'm curious as to why you think companies should apply different policies for determining basic pay and annual increments. I'm probably missing something here... :?

After reading this, my engrish all gone liao

because if computer software translate, english become like this.

i read until ... blur, but roughly can make out what is trying to say. ๐Ÿ˜†
basically, the gist is to survive, must do OT (overtime)

btw, how much salary does a bus driver earn in China, if those 29 repatriated workers return back home China, work as public bus drivers again ?

if is low over there, then means everyday they must drive OT a few buses, in order to make up to our SG equivalent bus driver pay.

A private bus driver in China earns about 2300RMB/mth. He does not get housing or food allowance nor are these provided by the company as well. This is he works for a private organisation. Public bus drivers in China earn less.

My mom rents out the spare room in her 3-rm flat for S$400+ and it's near MRT and big mall, so very convenient. But yes, no aircon, no internet, no heater. So if 2 persons share that room, each one around S$200-S$250, lor.

Wow can still get $400 rental. :yikes:

private bus driver in China salary approx ...
            2300 / 5 = approx. $ 460 sgd per month.
some more, no housing, no food allowance provided by China company.

over here in SG, how much he earn ?
how many times more - compared to what he's earning in China ?
here in SG, SMRT provide lodging, not sure ... got food allowance ?

$400 rental per month - is it master bedroom, or normal bedroom ?

Actually I heard from a chinese cleaner about her living arrangements. 6 pp share 1 room. Each pay the landlord $250 (thereabouts). I dunno about aircon. it's hdb flat btw (but I don't know which unit/block exactly). Amazing!

                Sorry :offtopic:

Sorry :offtopic:[/quote]Yes. Rental market extremely good now. A master bedroom in HDB flats gets easily close to 1000 bucks.

Talked to some Chinese workers in construction last night. They are paid on a hour basis. S$6/hour; it was S$4/h two years ago. Much less than in house cleaning (S$10/h). Before OT was paid 1.5 times, now same. They have 4 days off per month, but take only 2 to earn 100 bucks more. Forgot to ask about lodging, especially whether it's free or they got to pay. Food is ordered by company and they pay 4 bucks a day. It's not enough neither in quantity nor in quality because they are young and doing heavy work. They buy cheapest stuff to cook by themselves.

It is against HDB regulation.. HDB only allow 4 pax max per room.
