Have to wait for posting or else can't buy uniform & textbooks. And also can't do Christmas shopping. Just wonder whether O level also like this?[/quote]Our waiting is worse... Results on 14 Jan then next 5 days for submitting school options. First day of school for most JCs if 1st feb I think. 2 days before that is release of posting results I think.janet_lee88:

That's not so bad lah. My dd's time, she started working the week after her O-level papers ended and stopped just 2 days before 1st day at JC. So she was occupied. ;D

No problem for uniform and books. They get all those at JC. First week or 2 can still wear old secondary school uniform. -
I have choosen Anglican High School as first choice for my dd as she refuse to go to a girl school. But all my friend said that I could have chosen a better school as her score is 250+2. I am really confused now, have I really making a wrong choice :lightrod: ???

Anglican High School is a very good school as well. Did your friends suggest other schools? It’s always easy to say you can choose better schools but what did they suggest since girls’ schools are out?

You could have chosen a better school with 250+2, but since your kid doesn't want to go to an all girls school then that's quite a shame because she could have gotten into SCGS, CHIJ St Nicks etc. -

I agree. My DD has quite a few classmates who score above 250 who also put Anglican High as their first choice. -
Thanks Rain and Peony after reading your post, I feel relief. Choosing a school is really not easy especially when need to narrow down to a mix school and consider the distance of the school.

Hi easygoingmummy,
I totally agree with you that choosing a school is really not easy as we are not sure whether we have made the right decision and whether we will regret later? My dd is the reverse of your dd. She wants all-girl school. Actually, my dh's ideal choice is DH which is the nearest to our home and she is above the COP by 2pts. However, dd does not like it. Thus, in the end, we have chosen the schools which are quite a distance from our home. No choice as the most impt is she likes the school as she will be the one studying there. -

I have went to the Open House of Anglican High. It is a good school with good programme. It's COP is higher than many SAP schools, including Chung Cheng High. I think it is a good choice. According to the principal, there will be scholarships & special programme for the high abilities.
Although it's COP is only 243, it will definitely goes up to around 245, due to 3000 more kids sat for the PSLE. With 250+2 , she will be able to get into one of the top classes. Moreover, she will not have much choices, if she does not want to go to all girls schools. -

Hi Skyed, I know you are in SCGS, but different people have different preferences. You should respect others' choices.
