      Hi

If you can sum up your child's first year in formal education in one word, what would it be? What would you have done differently?
      Exhilarating!

It was an exciting and mentally stimulating year for DD1 which she enjoyed rather than despise.

Wasn't just about academics but rather to work as a team or groups. Feeling the pinch when she can't get the Fun CCA which she wants, learning to let go. Managing her time so that she does her homework in school rather than home so she has more rest time. πŸ˜„

        \"Stress\"
I always stress over her forgetfulness, she often forgot to submit her homework, forgot to bring home her water bottles, forgot her planner....
her pouch,, even forgot to bring back her uniform.
        so stress up !

Back fm holiday from Korea..superb cold here.. can see snowflake in Nov.
and also visit Legoland. not a bad place πŸ™‚

            For me... Relaxing.

I don't think I'd do anything differently. My dd has enjoyed herself tremendously in a lovely, encouraging school environment. She's happy; I'm happy.

Actually it is ok. When kids play, we also relax. Store up energy for next year. πŸ˜„

It is amazing...never expect my DD to breeze thru her Chinese...as she does not like to speak Chinese with us n always make me worry that she will flunk it...hope it will be another smooth journey in P2...now she is enjoying her holidays...playing games.

                      In 1 word, Different.

With my DD who is the older of the 2, we had no issues at all. But with DS, a bit of heartache at the beginning of the year as DS had some adjustment issues and I had some expectation issues with the school. But as the year progressed, both DS and I adjusted and things went pretty smoothly.

No major stress, the usual carelessness, forgotten wallet, forgotten books and water bottles. I did not really eyeball his homework and such, he has to be responsible for that himself, if he forgot he has to face the teacher himself.

Had a few pleasant surprises towards the end of the school year as DS received a couple of awards from the school.
