Why?[/quote]Probably because there's fewer distractions in terms of BGR. Not that single sex schools don't have, just fewer cases. And most of the elite schools are usually single sex ones eg. RGS, RI, HCI, NYGH etc -

Why?
it was rather discriminating whether it's single or co-ed .....
each and every choice or situation has its ups & down .....
be more open to choices, it's yours for the takes .....
higher T-Score does not necessary meant you'll be one of the future entrepreneurs or leaders .....
neither lower T-Score meant you are heading for the \"gallows\" .....
I'm no saint, I'm just like you ..... a human
be open ..... be receptive ..... be polite ..... thanks -

Lol what? Everybody knows that in single sex schools the interatction with the opposite sex is limited, this resulting in smaller possibilities of BGR. I'm not being discriminatory here. Just stating the general trend.

Also. It is well known that RGS RI etc are considered the elite schools in our nation both by parents and students alike. I never said that not going to them means you're hopeless. -

I definitely agree with you...some of these people's kids have not even sat for PSLE. They think they know a lot.mummy so kiasu:
Some people really ought to be whacked. They ask you what school you choose and then tell you 'Aiya, you so stupid. You should choose this and that school mah!\" I know of someone whose son got 210+ and chose an average neighbourhood school. The mother's friend told her,\"aiya, why you so stupid. You should opt for normal stream for him to go to a better school mah.\" For such people, they really should mind their own business because they don't even know what they are talking about! But the friend's remark made the mother worry that she had made the wrong school choice.
As for parents who have chosen their schools, stand firm and do not listen to such crap. -

As a mummy, I would prefer to send my boy to a boys' school & my girl to a girls' school for a very simple reason. Avoid BGR distractionas much as possible, hoping that they could focus on their study. I use the word \"hoping\" due to no guarantee. This is nothing to do with higher or lower T score. It is a matter of preference.
Btw, not all boys' schools have high COP, except the top schools. Nobody mention that low T score meant you are heading for the \"gallows\" here, except yourself. PSLE is our kids' first but not last national exam. Some of the top O level scorers are not PSLE scorers. Some kids, especially the boys are late bloomers. It is a matter of time that they will pick up & do as well or better than their peers. -
We would love son to attend all boys secondary school…but his PSLE results couldn’t make it. Honestly we are very shocked but didn’t blame him. Moving forward is important…but what is more important is to rebuild his shattered confidence again. He has been hit hard.

Psle not the end of the world. People enter my school by affiliation with psle score around 210 but sec 4 prelims l1r5 6. O levels likely to do well as well. And also got people enter my school with psle 25+ prelims l1r5 got 37. Seriously. -

Continue to give him encouragement & rebuild his confidence. Some kids are just late bloomers, especially the boys. No point looking backward, PSLE is already over & what is done can't be undone. As long as he has done his best & all of us know that he did. He should look forward to sec school & start fresh. Just work hard & then try to use his first year school results to transfer to a boys' school. All the best!
