Advice on hysterectomy
-
Hi
I am considering a hysterectomy due operation and was wondering if anyone out there would have some experience to share about it.
I am worried about the post-op complications. Also, need advice on the care needed after the surgery when recuperating.
Anyone with advice, please write to let me know. Thanks.

Hi, Mummy 66,
My warmest regards to you.
May I know it’ll be a complete removal or partial (supracervical)?
What’s the patient’s age group, e.g. 30s, 40s or 50s (menopausal)?
May I ask the Hysterectomy is deemed necessary by your gynae due to what diagnosis? e.g… Cancer prevention, Child bearing…
Do you have other long term medical condition?
I sent you a PM… -
Most hysterectomy patients return home within 48 hours of surgery with a prescription pain reliever. Laparoscopic patients are able to return to most of their usual activities within two weeks. Open patients typically require six to eight weeks and have significantly more restrictions due to the large incision. Open patients should not lift anything greater than 10 pounds for at least six weeks after surgery.

Hello Guys I had a hysterectomy like 2 several weeks ago and I am still having a lot of pain! It is really intense! It is at periods different from the discomfort I had before my hysterectomy. Thanks a lot!!
Do you have fever?
Is the pain occur only when you exert?
Best is to have it review with your Gynae, in case it's an inflammation.
Take care.
