It’s up to you whether you think she could fit in with another family. If so, then let her go back to the agent and find another job rather than sending her home.

In cases of dishonesty, lack of trust etc. I would say definitely send her home but this kind of case it difficult as she hasn’t done anything wrong as such and there is a chance she may be able to find an employer that is happy with her. I always feel bad about sending them back and making them start all over again.

Maybe this will be a wake-up call to her if you tell her that you were thinking of sending her back but you will give her the chance to find another employer?

        Hi jmtlam

It’s always frustrating having this type of maid.
All that you’ve described, clearly shows that she is not willing to follow instructions. For me, that causes me to rethink if I can trust her to take care of my household.
When she does not follow instructions and when questioned, shows blackface…I’d take it that she is no longer willing to learn to do things my way. So that’s the beggining of power struggle. It always does not end well.

Since she is a transfer maid and 2 employers since Nov 11. I’m quite sure it is the same problems and issues. They come in ok at first and when they are familiar, they start doing things their way and think we can’t do without them.

What pisses me off the most is, they are self righteous and think that as long as they don’t steal and ‘do their work’, they have every right to show us face and we are the ‘bad guys’.

I’ve sent maids like that home, your maid has changed employers several times, she knows she can just get another job. If they don’t show black face when questioned why they did not follow instructions, then maybe I’ll send them to agency.

I hope that she did not do something wrong and will not do something wrong… The problem is I think I’m very trusting and left her alone at home all day as both hubby and I working… So cannot monitor her in some way. Lately she starts to behave like queen and not happy show black face…

Maybe I didn’t elaborate, she take shower 1hr and I don’t bother cos if she finish her work, I’m ok. Cos I think sometime is she washing her clothes. But recently my aunty came in the evening and only she at home. My aunty have to wait 30min for her to come out from the toilet. And when she was out from the toilet, she don’t show remorse and just black face lor.

She cooks for my kids and she don’t eat. When I ask, she say she full already. Always say she eat salad in the aftnn and dinner she skip. And my kids don’t like the thing she cook… sometime is too oily, sometime too bland… wonder if she don’t even want to eat what she cooks, why she expect my kids to finish it. As I hardly eat at home, don’t really know what she cooks and she always let them have early dinner before I reach home at 6.30…

With my previous maid, i can truely trust but this maid somehow makes me very stress up… haiz…

I feel like scoulding my maid for all the things that I hate about her. She takes my kindness as fool. My mum and mil wont be able to help me. There is no one I can rely on except her hence I always have to swallow my pride and anger and refrain from my outbursts.

Used to have a maid that tried to seduce my older brother. My mom sent her packing immediately.

I have a transfer maid who was ill-treated by former employer. She was good for the first 2 years so we renewed her contract. A month later, we discovered she has contracted TB. For the past 6 months we had given her the medical treatment she needed including a surgery. Each checkup at NUH costs us abt $250 and she has to go every 2 weeks for first 2 months. Now, her pattern is out. She started by not greeting us when we got home and treated us as invisible. She disregard hygiene when she cooks and disobeyed instructions. She simply dun give a damn about us. I am going to send her back on the grounds that she has TB. I had enough of her treating us as invisible (except when pay day comes). We will give her 3 days notice and hope nothing will go wrong during this period. God be with us.

I’m so sick of scolding my maid. She just does not want to follow instructions, thinks she is very clever but the work not done according to instructions will show and I’ve caught her many times.

When I confront her, she readily admits it that she has not follow my instructions, then just say sorry. She keeps on doing this every week. I then asked her to write down the events that she did not follow instructions and ruined things. After one month, she is still not following instructions, when asked, she will not deny, just says sorry and writes down her mistakes. Then she continues not to follow instructions almost everyday.

Her sorry is not worth anything and she is not shy or embaressed about lying about changing.

My maid also same too. Any mummies know if that is a regulation for maid to complain to MOM about employer cannot send them if they do not want to go back ?

I tell my maid agent (also from phil) about I will buy a ticket and send my maid back to phil. My agent said i cannot do that, she tell me about the MOM rule, the maid can make appeal to MOM about employer. I wonder got such cases?

Already given my maid warning. Share with you my maid story here. My maid like to chat with her friends from the same country. Me and my hb already told her to stop doing that. After certain days we found out that she still continue doing that, continue meeting her friends. We closed 1 eyes and we pretend do not know about it. Then worst case happen, she kena sexual harassment by the Bangladesh guy, she make the report to the police. I believe she know that guy , otherwise the guy won’t have the gut to do that to her. When we asked her if she know that guy but she say no. After the incident, we give her last warning, we told her no more friend chatting out side our house or void deck. I even reminded her every morning. Again, we found out she still doing that. She left my 2 kids at home, and she is outside chatting with her friend. According to my kids, 5 to 10mins chat, i wonder, is that an items exchange everyday?

Beside this, there are other bad things about her. Sigh, I do not want to mention it here.
