Just got to know my DS will be posted to 3A class next year 2013. I was your post about 3C compete w 3E and 3B compete with 3D. How about 3A? Am I correct this 3A will be less competitive ones?

Sorry, I’m not sure. It could b A , B, & D same…but all classes will be well taken care of…my DS told me weaker students will hv a lot of remedial classes…in CZ, every child matters…

Min min, your DS is classmate with my boy in 2C? Yes, C & E still best class in terms of academic achievements. It looks like they alternate the students between these classes. My DS was a bit disappointed can't go his usual \"C\" class in P3 coz his best friends are there.

But to worry for other classes, CZ drive their teachers hard. Coz they want good passing for all classes.

libran269 - When I chose CZ, it was with the intention that I didnt want my DS to be in too competitive an academic environment like in \"top\" schools. At least until I know where he stands. However, I wanted a school where the kids are generally well behaved and where the school strives to be a \"top\" school. So I guess overall, CZ fulfills these 2 criterias.

So far, the teachers have done a good job IMO. The only issue I see is that for my DS case, in P2, the chinese teacher keeps changing and often times, a relief is teaching the class. It clearly shows in his results, his chinese results was quite terrible during P2 and it drag down his overall score.

So far how was the PSLE results - good number of quality passes?
Have you spoken to teacher about frequent changing of teachers?

I’m pretty "hands-off" with regards to the parents-teacher stuff so far. However, I am aware of the reasons which I felt was valid and its something that the school tries but somewhat beyond their control.


CZ seems to be above average for PSLE results. I guess my main gross so far is their limited choice for CCA. Wanted sports as CCA for my boy but they only have rugby and hockey to choose from. Both not in my good books

In general, my opinion most schools will dedicate their best resources to the graduating classes. Also, because of the way we look at our schools, the better classes academically tend to allocated to their best teachers. So its somewhat unavoidable to get average resource for lower primary. For a GEP school, their best teachers will always go to the GEP class. Maybe I’m odd in my opinion but this is a key reason why we avoided GEP school for my DS.

Didn’t really like the way they exchange class. At first I thought becoz E is for students with slightly weaker chinese, but then its not. Its just alternate placing. Anyway, DS already made promises with his current friends they will meet up every recess time to play police & thief
