Eh, can don't be so harsh or not? Different people do things differently. Every child is also different. You are not her and the child is not yours. It's easy to say you will do this and that if it were you, but you are not her.

I think she needs a proper closure to the episode. It has been a stressful year for the psle parents. Give her a break lah.

I wanted to ignore this post, but I can't.
If you had gone through the relentless and unfair nonsense I had to put up with son's teachers this year, I don't think you can swallow it either. It would be easier to understand if you can put yourself in my shoes.
If you allow your son to be ostracised by his form teacher, it's fine with me.
Since I'm on this topic, I might as well add in this note. I have sent an email to the school regarding my son being ostracised and the VP has called me to enquire further. I am a parent and I will not allow my children to be put down by anyone.

I am sure 90% of the entire tropical island of SINGAPORE parents will support me in this humiliating issue. Some powerful ones might even seek their lawyers' advice as the humiliation of their kids PRIDE had been shattered !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Janet, it is true that we are not in your shoes to fully understand whether it is just one form teacher, or many of your DS' P6 teachers, or even many of his teachers over his 6 years in this primary school who have done injustice to your DS. It is just sad for me to hear that you felt your son had wasted 6 years. (from reading another of your recent post in another thread) Since you have already written to the school regarding this, I sincerely hope you can get a closure of this matter and move on with your DS in his future learning journey.

I don't know FQW (don't even know if he is Dad or Mom) but I have read many of his posts to believe that he is not trying to be mean to you.

Continue to monitor & built resilience in your child from young. I have also read many of your post & like wonderm, I believe you meant no harm. I think the last few lines of your post was meant to be deleted but unfortunately got quoted b4 you could.

Janet, I also agree with what wonderm mentioned. Try to get a closure & let us all start a fresh new year happily. We will not know what is next for our DC. Just all try our best to help them be independent to face the future.

perhaps one thing we should learn is not to openly criticize your kids’ teachers in KSP coz many of them are lurking here. Some may not take too kindly to criticism

As far as I know, there are many children who qualified for GEP but chose not to go for it. I'm just wondering if the top scorer who got 276 could have been one of them? 276 is not an easy feat for any kid without the natural giftedness. So far, whenever I hear of kids from neighbourhood schools who get such scores, they always fall into that category.

My source tells me that you are right on this one.

I have read many of your posts and frankly and with kindness and respect, I think you are quite over-anxious with your child. He needs to face difficult people himself. The more you interfere, the more it will embarrass him. Good and bad teachers come and go, he has to learn how to cope.

If it makes you feel better, I have my fair share of terrible teachers from my kids' school which is what's more a so called top school. Sometimes I feel quite stressed when I hear my kids' grouses but I try not to interfere nowadays as I learned that my kids are just venting out their frustrations, not that they want help. Just like adults, we also vent out but we don't want anyone to go interfering with our problems with people.

Do relax more so that you child will feel relax too and he will learn better. Try to see the good things that has happened in those 6 years and move on with good memories. Take Care!

I wanted to post earlier but my PC crashed out on me :slapshead:

Since 2011, we've posted in the P5 threads and we all know the headaches, hardwork and efforts we've put into our kid's PSLE. The kids have worked hard too. Like you posted in the other thread, PSLE exam is a one event and anything can happen. Sometimes, luck, the \"form\" of the kid on that day, exam anxiety etc etc, so many many things beyond our control.

You know that your ds has already given it his best shot and you and your family has given him your best support. I also hope that you can bring a closure to this and move on to the next phase with your ds on a happy note. For what it is worth, \"all roads lead to Rome\" and this is just the first leg of a really long journey. Better to re-charge and face the next battle :imcool: then to waste your energy and get :mad:. Think again, I am sure your son did not waste the 6 years. In fact, he learnt a great deal - both academic and life skills.

I also think FQW meant no harm. With so much controversies around the forums these days, I hope at least our batch who hang around the \"School\" sections will remain cordial.

PH has been a SAP sch for many yrs. The pupils take HCL from P1 till P4; in P5, the less-proficient ones will drop HCL for normal CL. For lower pri, art, music and other non-core subjects are taught solely in MT.

Pei Hwa is opposite of Nan Chiau. Pei Hwa Sec is not a SAP school whereas Pei Hwa Pri is a SAP school.
