Relief teacher charged with sexual offences with 13yr o girl

don’t what happened to society?
there was a time when my mother taught me that: Mother, Father and Teacher are equivalent to GOD.
I don’t dare to say this to my kids now. My DD1 is going P3 now. She is a child who has already hit her growth spurt. she is the tallest in class, looks older for her age…(some parent mistake her for P5/P6 kid).
Got so worried after reading these recent news that I had a private talk with her. About how her body is her property and she must take care of it. DO NOT LET STRANGER TOUCH HER (no matter if this includes close friend, teacher, tutor, neighbour, grandpa, grandma, maid or even other close relatives)…
No one is allowed to touch her. If anything like this happen, must immediately tell mummy. Do not fear…mummy will not scold you…and do not feel ashamed as this is not your fault…
Many kids do not dare tell parents as the guilty person tell them that they are the ones who show off and attract the opposite party. they like to emotionally blackmail kids…
god forbid…I cannot imagine the emotional trauma on the child and the parent…
no words to share their grief…
just hope god gives them strength… -
You all should watch the Ch8 9pm show on air now… guess it’s "it takes two" or something like that…
Watch how gullible gals got conned by sweet talking by skilled predators… -
Currently, does MOE conduct assessment for new teachers (including relief teachers) to make sure that no paedophiles is employed as school teachers?

ngl2010:
I have been teaching my DS since P3 that private parts are PRIVATE. Nobody is allowed to touch them. If anybody try to touch his private parts, he is supposed to run, leave everything behind (including our house if the perpetrator is a tutor), take staircase instead of waiting for lift, and wait for us in public area where there are other people around. The world has gone mad that we can't trust people too much.
Yes Agree. Its good to teach them early. -
Really is 世风日下…
When does primary schools start the sexuality education? Guess I’ll need to speak to DW to see how to talk to kids about this topic ourselves if schools are not going to start it soon… -
Cannot leave it to school to teach.

I think it is responsibility of both father (in case it is a boy child) and mother (if it is a girl child) talk with the children about being responsible to take care of own body and how to behave with strangers…
we cannot just leave this to teachers…
kids have many doubts in minds and they are shy to talk about these with teachers…
when I had the pep talk with my daughter…she asked me about concept of GF/BF…says some kids in class already forming pairs…
have to tread here carefully…as these issues are sensitive…do not want to make the kid very scared also…that for any simple issue also raise alarm… -
Call me conservative or what, I don't alow my 12 yr old girl to wear sphag straps, cos I ve witness my fil touching my sil s shoulder when she was wearing an off shoulder blouse. his whole hand was on her shoulder :scared:
And I know my fil frequents batam. Sad!
Dd doesn't like to sit beside fil during meals, she ever mentioned to me that grandpa sometimes taps her lap which makes her feel uncomfortable. Not to cast doubts on fil, but I did warn my girls that it can be relatives or close friends who can prey on them.
When I was teaching in school 10 years ago, my p sacked an I T technician because he touched/caressed a girl's face in the comp lab. The girl was with 2 others. Think they reported the case to a teacher aft that immediately. I thanked my p for being cautious. -
Agree with you! It’s both patents responsibility to educate the child about these issues…
I don’t even allow my girl to undress in front my 2yr old son. Told her that she must maintain her modesty always…
Hope kids will be prudent and mindful in remembering our advise. We can only guide them them about what is right and what is wrong. Rest is still in their hands… -
When the school taught Reproduction in Human during Science lesson in class, I used the opportunity to educate DS further in the topic. We talked about it just like Science. There were a couple of awkward questions but I answered it as a matter of fact. It is better for him to ask us rather than ask his friends who may have incorrect answer.
