COP 2012 - For Secondary Schools in 2013

The increase in the COP of those 'top' schools is consequece of the dragon year.


Based on the formula, 250 is the benchmark for the top 10% candidates. Last year, there were 45261 candidates, but this number has increased to 48333 this year, which means there are 300+ more candidates who have scored 250+ this year. As there is no significant increase in the vacancies in those 'top' schools, their COPs certainly go up.

Hi, can you share from where (URL/website) did you extract the total number of candidates for PSLE this year?

hopefully COP go back to normal, ie. drop back -3 points.

Yes... I am getting worried for Mr Horse now.... Need to look at statistics. Don't think no. of horse baby can be compared to dragon though when I come to think about it, horse is also a favored horoscope... For some reasons, I thought the no. of babies was a downward declining trend from snake to horse hence the baby bonus that was introduced during the year of horse ??? I recalled that I didn't get any bonus for Ms Snake but we got a bonus for Mr Horse or maybe be he was the 2nd child????

Hehe, I don't think horse is popular. My baby horse didn't have to \"ballot\" for a slot in a \"reasonably\" good school. According to the school's statistics, every year had ballot except my baby horse.... phew! Got in!

Just came back from dhs after submitting the appeal.
256 is the cutoff. Dd probably missed by decimals.
Parents will be informed next week if short listed for interview.
Sigh, 1 point can make such a difference.

Dunman high COP is not 255.
My dd has 256 (254 +2) for higher chinese but got posted to TJC instead.
Now gotto appeal to DHS cause all her clique going there.

Thanks. No particular talent. Only school debate team which entered semis and prefectorial board.

I would not be disappointed, but she would. I'm fine with TJC. In fact any ip school.

龙马精神...my friend's daughter is a horse child...she couldn't get into the choice girls' school which hit a high that PSLE year.

Well, nope , I might be going there too... CCHS is 239 ( 2 marks increase) while CCHY is 234 (2 marks increase) >.<
