Its upto you.Hihi
I was browsing the school's website and came to know that there will be an enrichment class on HO Maths & Chess starting from Week 2.
Though it's not compulsory, can I know for the past few years, does all P1 parents enrol their DS for the class? I'm afraid that if I do not sign my DS for it, he may be the only odd one out if coincidently his whole class attend.
Thanks in advance!
My son didn't join. His class, about half the class joined.
These are run by outside private vendors. They are not conducted by school staff. -
Hi Parents
Need some help/advice.
My ds1 is in Aitong P3 and given a place in the top ‘stretch’ class (E cube program) for P4 nx yr.
I’ve applied for transfer to Cat Hi P4 and was told very high chance of getting in but most probably not in top class, as he is a transfer student.
He is currently also training with Aitong badminton and volleyball school team, and volleyball coach says she can speak to volleyball coach of Cat Hi to let him play volleyball there too if he chooses to go to Cat Hi as he is a good player.
1) Does Cat Hi have ‘stretch’ programs for their non GEP boys? Is it only for the top non GEP class? If ds does not get into that top class, can he still get into a gd class in P5 based on P4 results?
2) Should i give up a guaranteed stretch class position at Aitong for a mixed class position at Cat Hi? ( Main advantage is affiliation to Cat Hi Sec)
I have other considerations too as i have ds2 going into Aitong P1 nx year, and would of course like him to be in Cat Hi with his older brother, but i was told it’s harder for him to get in as P1 vacancy is very limited.
3) Any parents here with sons in volleyball school team? Is it possible like the coach says to get my ds to join the school team too, based on her recommendation?
My ds1 is happy to go to either school, he says he will leave the decision to me.
It’s a tough choice indeed. I think he can do well in either school and may be able to use DSA volleyball or badminton if he continues at Aitong, but I’m also thinking for my 2 younger boys, cos if ds1 gets into Cat Hi, they will probably be in Cat Hi and they can benefit from the afiliation points in future…
Thanks for any advice! -

Your DS1 seem to be doing very well in Ai Tong. Beside CHS affiliation, are there other reasons? With so much uncertainties, isn't it better to remain in Ai Tong? As for volleyball, it doesn't matter what the coach recommend, as long as your DS1 is good enough to be in school team, he will be in school team. If he is an outstanding player, he will definitely get into the main team. Do not CHS is good in volleyball and their standard maybe higher.Hi Parents

As mentioned earlier, your DS1 is doing well academically in Ai Tong. Furthermore, he is also good in volleyball and badminton. With all these qualities, he should have no problem when it comes to DSA in P6. U can even try CHS again since they volleyball is one of their niche sports. Also, your DS2 will be going to Ai Tong. If both sons are in different school, logistically, wouldn't it be too troublesome?
Anyway, the choice is yours. Hope you will make a good choice!

Thanks for your reply, bigfoot.
I hope to be able to transfer my ds2 into catholic high too, as then both will be in morning session.
In Aitong, ds1 morning session and ds2 will be in afternoon session ....
I guess that's not the main issue...
So many considerations... or perhaps i'm thinking too much! -
Dear All,
Seeking help! I ‘misplace’ the booklet given on the orientation day for Primary One. May I check if anyone can share with me the items to bring along and to keep in the school(text books) need to bring on the 1st and 2nd, (3rd) days please?

Just curious, can anyone advise on the ranking for P4 classes next year?
TIA! -
Re P4 next yr:
Besides gep gentleness & faithfulness, Charity will become the high ability class. The word charity used to be associated with the weakest class, but now the name is used as the best non-gep. I guess sch wants to remove stigma assoc with it. The other classes will be randomly allocated, so no ranking. -
Hi,
My DS is moving to CH next year. Can anyone advise what is the top 2 classes in P3? Any mummies with boys gg to class 3 Goodness?
TIA

Hi
I am a newbie both to Kiasuparents and to CHS. However, I am lost in this thread. As both primary and secondary school discussions can be found here and it is difficult to track discussion regarding to secondary only. Do we have a dedicated thread just for secondary?
Thanks. -
