4 points is near impossible sorry. Anything more than 3 points below a schools cop is highly unlikely. -

Many schools with affiliation are getting less affiliates as they have cut of points for their affiliated schools. Schools like Catholic High, Maris Stella, CHIJ (TP), Ngee Ann, and for the first time this year Katong Convent. These schools have less affiliated students so the COP is quite accurate. Rather, schools like St Hilda’s Sec, Fairfield Methodist have no COP for their affiliates and have abt 80% students from their Pri school.

I have finished wrapping son's textbooks this morn...yet to wash all his new uniforms.
My dd has been wrapping her own books since P5. I told her \"It's up to you. If you want it to look nice, you can use the plastic covers. If not, don't bother.\" She would try but many covers don't fit, so she just let those be.
Same with studies and music. Friday morn, asked her to read 1st chapter of the Geog text and practice 1 pc of music on her instruments and when I'm free after work or weekend, I might want to listen to them. She may not do them well but it's ok. Since P4, she has been studying tingxie and dictation on her own and she does not always perform up to exopectations (teachers, that is
) but she has the satisfaction that she did it by herself. The main point is, they must learn that what you sow is what you reap. Also, independant learning reduces your stress level.

I do not belong to this thread. But last post abt independence. Just to share, DD1 is in P1 and she has been washing her school shoes most of the time. Not always well-washed. Once she did a bad job and saw the result when it was dried, she tried harder the next wash :evil:
On my lazy days, ds (5 yos) will make breakfast for himself.
Just to share that it's never too young to start. and that the mess and less than perfect result is ok. -

Just to share that it's never too young to start. and that the mess and less than perfect result is ok.
Unfortunately, my dd is not independant on home economics. I've tried hard to get her to wash her cups or bring her plates to the basin but she's just too forgetful. End result, she does not drink because there is no clean cup, eat junk food until I come home with her hot meals. I've totally failed here. Last year, at my insistence, she painted her shoes with the white \"paint\" and it looked like she had poured the entire bottle over it. There were drip marks all over the base, floor was a mess ....... My dd just looked at her dried shoes in horror and refused to wear it. Her father rushed out to buy her a new pair.:stupid: I would have made her wear it. -

There's a period in kids' devt when they love to wash dishes. Once the period is over it takes more effort to build the habit. Jia You!!!! Don't give up.

My dd1 is in a co-ed school, maybe that's why she's more willing to wear less than white shoes to school. Some of the boys' shoes do not survive past recess heehee -
I used to plan schedule for him...but will not be doing so for him from next year...I have to let go...with 8 subjects, he has to learn time management and learn how to prioritize. As long as homework must be completed before bedtime.
He is dependent as a result of me micro-managing...I am guilty :oops: -
Janet, please don’t feel guilty. Any parents wld want their kids to do well in their exam. Who wants their exam outcome to be poor? So kudos to all parents who have helped their child in one way or another.
