      Hi FQW,
Is it possible to conduct 3 levels of test, i.e bronze, silver and gold within a year? I was told each level takes about half a year. May I know at what age did your Child start taking swimming lesson? Thanks.

Yup, it's possible. My son took bronze in Jun, silver in Sep and gold in Dec 12. 3 certifications within 1/2 yr. On top of that, coach managed to train him in butterfly as well. He has been with current coach for 1 yr.

That's why I say he has a very effective coach who is able to motivate.

Before that he was learning under 2 different coaches (not concurrently) for 1.5 yrs and managed to clear levels 1-3. He was 5 1/2 yrs old when he started proper lesson.

Thanks for the information. Your boy must be quite good as well to have achieve so much in a short time 🙂 My boys are under a coach for coming to 2 years now and only going for bronze test, although he has taught them butterfly etc. In fact, coach say their standard can pass gold with little problem...but I have been thinking it is indeed a bit slow in terms of test. Thanks again, I will check with him again.

        Scuba diving?

That's an interesting sport. Hopefully one day he'll do that too.

I'm a PADI certified diver. Though I haven't done a dive for donkey years,
still can remember it being one of the best experience I ever had. 🕺

My DD’s swim coach is based in Yishun.

PM me if you need his contact.

Another way is for you to go down to the swimming pool
at the timings your DS is available for lesson, and observe
the swim coaches and approach the one whom you like
in terms of teaching style, patience, etc.

Hihi , need some advice here …

Currently my 5 yrs old child with zero swimming background is attending
lesson with kids in intermediate level . He is the only begineer . At 8th lessons now , I still din see him learn kicking . Mostly is
underwater breathing and the coach will hold him to swim with the board . Was thinking whether I should change him to a ALL begineer class as everybody will be doing the same activities ? Tks

                        Hello,

I would like my 7 years old daughter to start to learn swimming but I have no idea where I can bring her to learn swimming and where to find a coach to teach her.
I am staying in a HDB flat in Marine Parade area and I do not have a public pool in my area.
Please advise me if you were in the similar situation as mine before.
I would appreciate very much if anyone could kindly share with me some information on how to go about to get my daughter to start to learn swimming. Many thanks
