      Actually I think it's not a good idea to pack liquid leh, no doubt thermal flask is air tight, but if it's not close tightly then leak into the bag. :oops:

      I also think so... in case the liquid/gravy/sauce spills or overflows, it's gonna get really messy for our kids.

        My daughter has been assigned Recess duty to patrol during recess for 30 minutes. There goes her recess. So for the month where she has to do her Prefect duty, I die die must pack for her food.

        Hmm, got to start planning what to pack from Mon-Fri for the whole month. :?

          As my child is starting pri 1 next week and she is still not confident handling money yet, I intend to let her bring snacks to school for recess.

          Need some ideas on what kind of food / snacks some of you prepare for your children… Thanks!

                Besides giving him money for recess, I put in ham buns by Four Leaves, plus a packet of milk as a snack. It has proved a life-saver when the recess queues are long or when he forgets his wallet. If he does eat at the canteen, then the bun and milk will be saved for the bus trip home. Call me kiasu…

                  plain/seaweed/cheese crackers that they can dip into tuna/salmon (canned ones, pull the lid ready to eat)

                  fruits sticks (seedless grapes,strawberries,blueberries)

                  * Vege sticks (cherry tomatoes, carrots) can add their favorite dip at the side

                  * chocolate pudding, fruit jelly from ntuc

                  * yam bread (crystal jade) it’s very filling even for an adult

                  * honey cornflakes/wheat biscuits

                    I usually pack a simple snackbox for DS for the first week of school every year, consisting of nutella/ham cheese sandwiches or pita (I add chicken or ham with cheese), cereal and a fruit. After the first week, things should be more or less settled and he will buy food from the canteen.

                        May I know will ham and cheese sandwich lasts till recess time? I never tried packing this before, always thinking ham (picnic/honey baked) & cheese ( cheddar?)have to be refrigerated. Will it spoil cos my DS is in the afternoon session. Kindly advise. He loves this combination very much.
