I feel that good family support benefits our children more effectively. To rely on Govt/MOE/etc is unrealistic.33mama:
I would like more on how to provide good suggestions for school systems to build up our kids more holistically.
hopefully into actions by govts...
There are threads on what some KSP members would like to see in new MOE directions. Many good suggestions were mentioned. -

What I meant was government to put the school systems not to be only focusing on academic as the teachers are really pushing the kids very very hard. Kids coming home with loads of homework.. at times 3-4hours of homework!
If comparing to other country's school system, the kids develop more self learning skills, more space for creativity... -
One thing I feel we should NOT be doing is to compare ours with other countries' system as our environment is very different, with huge emphasis on psle and s1 streaming.
P.s. Oops...missing thr 'NOT' -

but then compare with which country - other east asian countries with their heavy emphasis on education and have similar maths / sci scores as singapore? i.e. they achieve same results but from different or similar education system paths?

Cheh... don't say \"old\" leh. Such a sensitive word :razz:schweppes:
[quote=\"Busymom\"]For 2013, I would like to see:
1. old forummers returning to KSP to share their knowledge or just chit chat
... guess I don't count since I'm young :imanangel: :imcool:

And me too.

For 2013, I would like to see:
1. Previously-active KSP forummers returning to KSP to share their knowledge or just chit chat
2. some fun like what we used to have (aka games)
3. auctions
Mod: I wanted to edit my earlier post to the above but can only quote myself. Change of system? :? -
