So would I. Unfortunately, such discussions tend to be sensitive and sometimes marred by rude behavior brought about by intolerance or impatience. Many parents are very passionate about their stand on the issues and tend to take it personally when their views are criticized.

I feel that good family support benefits our children more effectively. To rely on Govt/MOE/etc is unrealistic.

There are threads on what some KSP members would like to see in new MOE directions. Many good suggestions were mentioned.

What I meant was government to put the school systems not to be only focusing on academic as the teachers are really pushing the kids very very hard. Kids coming home with loads of homework.. at times 3-4hours of homework!

If comparing to other country's school system, the kids develop more self learning skills, more space for creativity...

but then compare with which country - other east asian countries with their heavy emphasis on education and have similar maths / sci scores as singapore? i.e. they achieve same results but from different or similar education system paths?
