      Hi Hquek,

Thanks for the reply. Agree with u that the text shld be the same in all the different versions, but due to the different dimensions of each book, the nbr of words on each line and the nbr of lines on each page will be different. If the school is using it as a literature book, i guess the teacher might want the students to turn to a pacrticular page to refer to a certain para etc. If the student is using a diff version, he/she might have a hard time finding the para the teacher is referring to .... this is just my thinking, dont know how the teacher is going to make use of the book ....

I called the school bookshop in the morning to enquire abt the book, it is still not here yet. They said they will check with the publisher. When i requested for them to check the ISBN with the publisher, the aunty said no time to do so 😞

I downloaded the e-book on a kindle, if i still cant get hold of the book b4 school starts, wonder whether is it ok for my son to use the kindle for the lesson first??? Or worse come to worse, i just grab any book available in Bras Basah, disregard the version.

Anyway, thanks for the tips! 🙂

Kindle worse right? I’m scared it could be lost. 😛 but yes I think you are right regarding that teacher may ask them to refer to page x/x.

Anyway I bought the book - deed is done, so will play by ear.

            hi cassmania,

Depends on what you are looking for, which phase you fall under, and what other choices you are considering. It’s very hard to give answer like that leh. 🙂

From past yrs infor, last 6-7 yrs, there was balloting under P2C for within 1km.

My dd1 will be P2 next yr. So far I like the school. My dd1 enjoys going to school too.

                  Cassmania,

Adding on to Sahm_tan’s comments, I’m expecting competition to get worse. Previously, there was no balloting for 2B - but this is no longer true. I think there was balloting for 1-2km under this phase. For those in Phase 2C, it can get really nail biting because I think balloting for under 1km is a given.

I also stay within 1km of this school (though not sure which direction which you are in). On my end, this is considered one of the better schools. Things quite relaxed in the first few years (unless it’s self inflicted stress).

I do like the emphasis on Chinese culture which means more exposure on culture related stuff (eg kids get to learn chinese classical instruments, wushu, calligraphy) during lesson time.

This school focuses more on holistic development. It can get a bit under my skin when in the name of not focusing too much on academics, they don’t release some info. Concrete eg, I don’t know what my kid got for his compos in SA2 (Eng and chinese). I understand they dont’ want parents to stress overly on academics but hey, if I don’t know if my kid is having trouble with his compo, I won’t know if he needs help.

                    hquek,

Maybe you need to rephrase your query abt compo grade in another manner  :rotflmao:

                        Hi parents,

Repeating my qn again. Anyone knows if Logicmills is still training the students in Hong Wen? If yes, at which level?

                        TQ 😄
