        Parents and Students,

Proficiency in languages is important besides the other core subjects (eg science, maths, humanities, ++) taking into consideration for the GCE ‘O’ level credits. L1R5 for JCs and L1R4 for entry to the Polytechnic. And that L1 refers to the first language, English. In brief, students should put in their utmost effort in both the language and core subjects in the next lap of learning for their secondary school education … if you’re in the IP track, specific GPA score coupled with language proficiency also comes into play for year to year promotion, but you need only be prepared for the ‘A’ level exam … cheers

Is it too late to check my dd results with moe?

How do I go about doing it?
              What is the success rate?
Any parents had the experience of doing it and was successful?

              Thanks.
success rate: 50%. You might end up gaining marks :imcool: . or loosing marks 😢 . If you really need them then yes you should try but if not... Don't. I've heard that you have to pay a certain amount of :moneyflies: to let MOE check ur paper.

                      :udawoman: :udaman:

Hey, i observed that there are high % of girls who did far better than boys to have below observations - (less the exceptions and the extremes of the bell curve) : can anymore provide insights and statistics to support this discussion?

                      1) COPs for the new IPs school like MCS /CHIJ St Nick /Cedar have COPs of 255 and above when the Cath High/VS/SJI have COPs of 251& above
                      2) Girls have 70-80% of the places in top co-ed schools like DHS, National JC, Temasek IP, Anglican....How about Hwa Chong/RV/BPGH/Anderson? any parents to share on girls % there?
                      3) There are more girls school in the top 20 school while boys schools are just the forever RI, SJI, VS, CHS, ACS
You name the girls schools and most of them are prominently highly sought for and have high COPs;Nanyang Girls, RGS, St Nick, Cedar, MGS, Crescent, SCGS, CHIJ Toa Payoh, St Margaret. Double leh....
                      4) so PSLE is really not fair if your boy is not strong in languages, esp MT. It is proven most boys are weaker...

Parents of these schools or have observed this issue, please share your thoughts ya....

Doesn't matter if more boys or girls coz if our kids is not part of the 'favourable' stats, then the stats means nothing to us.

Having good results is not about some random chance but working hard and working smart. 😄
