I heard of one case. A very popular school, I can't name the school, in Bt Timah area, willing to admit a child if the parents can \"donate\" $XXX,XXX. 6 figure amount!!

Can I know which parent is it and which school?
Will need to report to MOE! A must report case!

Such dishonesty which breeds their younger generation as society outcast and vermins.

I heard this type of pattern too.

Some asking for maintenance of tennis court and swimming pool. Or building the tennis court and swimming pool itself.
Anyhow, whether it is true or not. Eventually the swimming pool and tennis court were built in that school.
Just don't wish to break people rice bowl. MONEY is the power.

to identify this particular school in Bukit Timah area is not hard.

narrow down / zoom in :-
how many primary school(s) in Bukit Timah ... own both swimming pool and a tennis court ?

we are not sure if above is true or not.

but if it's true,
still, the donation is used to benefit the entire school, didn't it ? (not into personal pocket)
Pupils can practise swimming in the pool, pupils can practise playing tennis in the court.

Usually both parties have to read between lines. Principal doesn’t state the figure likewise the parents.

P may says ,’ our school needs some IT stuff for students to enhance their knowledge, …or Our school needs to upgrade this facility,…
So parents will have to take the hint.
All goes to the benefit of the students in that school, lah. Money solves everything.

Gather a few rich parents to share the cost of swimming pool. It probably helps.

hi,

i m thinking to register my #2 in Innova Pri in Y2014, due to single session.
However, my #1 is now in Qihua Pri P2 with PM session. And nx year he will move to P3 in AM session.

In order to have them both in AM session with Innova (the only school in AM session in woodlands, Riverside Pri P1 Y2013 pioneer), i m thinking to transfer my #1 to Innova this year, will it be possible and allow by MOE? If yes, what should i do?

Pls advise, thanks.
Hello All,

Please advise why is Admiralty so popular in Woodlands? I've got a place for P3 next year but my daughter prefers her current school, Qi Hua...
what makes Admiralty so special?

Thanks, VT

hi, mind i ask how did you get a place for P3 next year?

I actually put her name under wait list... you can do that if you want to...
Hi VT,

May i know how you registered ur girl under wait list? Went down to the school personally? And how long was the waiting time till the school confirmed? Can the student make the transfer in the middle of the year or the student have to start from a fresh new year?

Thanks.

If you go to the school’s website, there usually is a section where you can download the waiting list forms. Fill that in and email to the school together with the kid’s results (scan into pdf). If you cannot find the form, give the admin a call to ask.

Some schools may also require a written entrance test. I have seen kids joining in the middle of the year if there’s a vacancy.
