Teacher Dreamaurora - Piano Q&A

Do you still teach, my friend in the east looking for her daughter K2 this year, any recommendation?

I am not familiar with Kinderbach, but seems like a decent product from the description.
chuaeil:
I think you can slowly get her interested in classical music first. You can send her for appreciation courses such as JMC, Kindermusik, MYC.
If want to do it yourself, order the Little Mozarts Deluxe Starter Kit because it comes with the CD.

I think it is fine to start with it first for a few months, but I suggest as soon as your daughter displays a liking for the instrument that you find a good teacher. This is because appreciation courses do not focus on technical development and without proper feedback from a teacher for an extended period, your daughter may develop bad habits.
Ok...sure! Thank you very much for your sharing.

can you create another post for teachers to discuss?

Hmm, good idea. PianoWorld and ABRSM also has excellent teaching forums btw. -
hi, anybody has kid to register for the coming ABRSM piano grade exam? Now everything goes on-line? can we choose time and venue then?
-
You can choose the time in terms of the preferred month, venue in terms of north, south, east, west or central. But of course no guarantee you will definitely get what you asked for.

What if I wish to choose the particular timing? Say August?
thanks,jce:

You can indicate the month (like what I said, the preferred month) when you make your entry. I think so far they have accommodated well, plus minus a week or two. So for example request was for Aug (can’t specify whether it’s beginning, end or mid aug), the given date was last week of July, or first week of Sept

Hi thanks,
but that is really a big difference to me. If I will be available for one particular week in one particular month, what shall I do?jce:

If you really cannot make it for the date given then you can request for rescheduling, with valid reasons. When that happens you may not get back the same venue, or the area you requested for. There is a special request column you can fill in (I think), perhaps you can tell them precisely which week you prefer and WHY. The reason must be good and "really, there is no alternative". Or drop them an email after entering quoting your applicant no.
