      hi

jus wondering whether anyone of you have enough sleep, esp after your kids go to morning session? my sleep’s being getting lesser and lesser since kids start attending morning session.

i have no maid no helper and no car. i have 2 kids+ 1 bb. n i m working fulltime. so every nite after my kids have gone to bed, i will do min housework (handwash/machwash). everyday i hv between 6-7 hours of sleep. not juz me and spouse, even my kids suffer from lack of sleep coz they wake up b4 6am and sch bus fetches juz after 6.

i tink my work is affected somehow or another though not very serious, coz i stay awake drinking tea twice a day. can’t think of a better solution to stay alert.

do you have any suggestion or solution?

Do the kids nap on the school bus? That will help a bit. Are they able to wake up later if you or your hubby bring them to school? Or is it possible for the older kids to have earlier bedtime?

As for housework, there are a few options.

        1. Leave the housework till the wkends and everyone chips in to help out.

        2. Engage a part-time cleaner to take care of the housework once a wk. The part-timer will take care of laundry and ironing too.

        3. Invest in the robot vacuum cleaner, I can’t recall the name. It will move around and vacuum the floor.

If the kids are in after school care and CC, once in awhile recharge yourselves (hubby and you) by taking leave to sleep-in, relax a few hours and recharge without the kids around. Sometimes we need to take care of ourselves before we can care for others.

        Hang in there.

I have been sleep deprived from the moment I got pregnant. These days, by sheer necessity?, forced training over the years of breastfeeding, sickly and difficult babies to night terrors, or just plain old age, I sleep much less now.

On a serious, hang in there, it will only get better. If possible, sub out chores to part time help to keep yourself sane.

              thanks appreciate the advise.

quite impossible to bring them to sch ourselves coz the elder 2 study in diff sch. it makes things more difficult when we hv no car. we have no intention to buy car for various reasons. on top of that, still have bb to take care. our situation is more complex.
my kids dun sleep on the bus. been telling them but they want to see the bus journey. been having difficulty getting a pt time to work over weekends, but will try to find. yes i agree that we must look after ourselves b4 we can look after others. will stay positive. 🙂

I have 3 kids too and with no maid either. I'm working full time as well. Sometimes, things may seem hard to bear but nothing is impossible. I even managed to attend night classes without external help. Very grateful to my hubby who shares the load with me. So, jkids, do get your hubby to share. Plan out a workable schedule. I get the kids to finish up their sch homework in their studentcare and I will only do up the revision or those that they don't know at night. We cook everyday. My hubby do the cooking and i do the washing. If you need any part-time maid you can PM me. I have one that is reliable and good.

I dont have a maid but DDs going to the same school so that helps.

What I do is to have sufficient uniforms for DDs so I dont have to rush and wash everyday. Each DD has 5 sets of uniforms(includes PE) & socks. so I will just do 1 round of laundry mid week and the rest on weekend including ironing.

Your kids are in student care? Since they are coming back after 6pm. If they are, have them finish up their homework in BASC and bed time by 9pm or 8.30pm.

I have a cordless vaccum at home so it is a quick 10-15mins around the house everyday. Kind of aim to be resting in bed by 10pm to relax and sleep after.

hi jkids, yes, its good for you to stay positive.

for me, I don't do housework everyday. only do the washing using the washing machine every other day when the laundry bag is full. cleaning the house is on weekends, will do together with my dh. my dds will chip in whenever they can. ironing also done on weekends, will iron the necc uniforms n work clothes for the wk after. every nite, I will prepare all the uniforms, water bottles, bags, etc and place it in the living rm, this save my time to look for the items at diff places. sleeping bet 6-7 hrs is more than enough for me. will wake up a bit later during the weekends/holidays so this is the time for me to get a recharge.

Ya, having 3 kids is a tough act to balance. I was carrying/piggy-backing my 3rd child while doing housework, cooking and everything else. After 2.5 yrs of that and sleep deprivation for as long, I see the light at the end of the tunnel. This is the yr, I packed bb off to kindy with her brother.

Plus this yr, she's more independent, I think I can finally retire my well-used baby carrier. Heehee

Sleep wise still sleep deprived becos she will nurse in the middle of my sleep cycle but it's much better now.

You are not alone, we will cheer you on :rahrah:
