      hi hsm,

Maybe you like to check out the 2 fair coming soon, 8 to 16 Oct Gracious Home or 22 - 30 Oct Creative Living, Both @ Singapore Expo. Alternative you can go to Serta showroom to check out the promotion.

Last Furniture Exhibition in May, we are offer $1200 for a King Size Serta Bed with Bed Frame but it does not carry any warranty. Another offer Serta offers is the exhibition piece, usually at half price.

With regards to the warranty, we ever challenge the sale manager before. For a $1200 mattress, most of the average mattress the warranty last only 1 to 3 years. The Serta range on offer are mid range mattress which usually warranty for 10 years. If you work the Math backward, $1200 is a bargain and you enjoy the quality. My latex bed cost $3xxx when i bought it 3 years back. If the cost is not that high, i will have change it earlier. As one of my aunt says, you buy a expensive piece of furniture that goes out trend in a few years and you cannot change it. Why not buy reasonable set where you can change every year or maybe 2 to 3 years and stay trendy and save money. Good and reasonable furniture hard to come by nowadays

I would recommend going to IMM to try out the various mattresses in the many shops.

              1. High density foam - used as the top layer - traps heat
              2. Latex - comes in natural and synthetic - both traps heat
              3. Diff brands hv diff spring design
              4. All brands claim unique spring design, cant compare apple to orange
              5. Claims that the partner sleeping will not be disturbed by another partner tossing on the bed - I do not find it true for the brand we bought
              6. Most mattresses are so thick today, need to consider the final height if using back the existing bed frame

Another point to take note abt the existing frame if it is to be re-used - the platform on which the mattress sits on - made of wooden plank (solid thick vs thin ones) or wooden slabs (distance between each slab) - also affects the the performance of the mattress.

Word of caution - what suits person A might not suit person B. Weight, height, sleeping posture affects the choice of mattress.

We bought one 7 years ago. Still using it now. We still love it as much as the first day we bought it!
