To answer your question, no, I'm certainly not blind. If I'm blind, I'll not be in rv. ^^ To answer your second question, of course got! I use ipad but don't play one. The rest of my class also don't play ipad during lessons one.
Hi, are you blind? Where got students use iPad don't play one. Waste money sia :spank:snowman.697:
Is there any proof that results decreased after iPad implementation? There may not be an obvious improvement but there's no decrease either. Being a student myself i can confidently say that the iPad has not resulted in weaker results. Not all students game. In my class, I don't recall anyone using the iPad for illegitimate purposes ever since school started.
I'm not defending the iPad program because I'm a student. In fact after the iPad was introduced, I basically put all my notes into google drive, which is synced with my gmail, which is synced with my phone and computer yada yada yada, which means I don't have to take out annoying notebooks all the time to do revision. And if a friend requires notes, or I lost mine, I just share the doc... Takes 5 seconds and its done.
IMO, if the child ends up using the iPad as a gaming/networking tool, then his results will reflect. There will be people who will learn it the hard way at the end of the year. I've personally been through it, and I think that's a more than enough way to make one reflect on himself. Furthermore, since all RV students are expected to be of good character... Theoretically, this problem shouldn't even exist, no?
Don't generalise. Your daughter/son might be addicted to the ipad, but my school has 2.5k students, and he/she certainly doesn't represent the 2.5k. I own 2 computers, 2 phones, an ipad, and an android tablet, i dont see how they will affect my studies if i use them appropriately and have good time management. -

I was just saying that it looks like an irreversible trend..even 3 years old are using ipad...I really have a 3 years old niece and I don't meant to be sarcastic.
:?queensotong:
Personally, I don't use an ipad but it seems very common and a trend that cannot be avoided.
I was abit surprised that even my 3 years old niece is using ipad to watch her cartoon and playing with some animation games and learning stuffs....She knows how to scroll and get to all the apps that she wants at this age.
What has your 3 years old niece can use an ipad got to do with the problem of our child get hooked up too much by the ipad and adversely affected their results?
Another question is that how do you know that your child results is adversely affected by ipad? Why do you zoom in to ipad to be the reason and not maybe due to some other factors? Is there a similar period that the child isn't using ipad and his result was better to compare with a period that his result degrades after using ipad? There are students with 270+ psle t-scores and suddenly they flunk everything after they go to secondary schools and there wasn't even ipad around at the time.
As mentioned, your 3 years old niece who can use an Ipad has got nothing to do with my child, regardless is it real or not.
If a child, school days or holidays, most of the time one is awake has to be glued to the Ipad and that is not the reason causing drop in result? Even if it is not the reason, it is a problem needs to be addressed -

I'm not being sarcastic in my comment on the IPad subject matter. Your thinking is of the \"straight-traditional\" type and that no longer applies in today's society. You need to look at the situation at various angle and not derive the answer to a problem on one single focal point.
Information technology in education and work is here to stay. Discipline in the usage of technology resides on individuals and their closest peers, kins or guardians. If IPad is really a problem for you, do approach the institution of concern and I believe you'll get a definite answer to your problem.
Safekeeping a key away from the locked door does not guarantee that the door would not be breached by a thief or burglar, less the overall security is in-built in an approach with clear objectives. Think ... Thanks
You mentioned more than once, \"Discipline in the usage of technology resides on individuals and their closest peers, kins or guardians.\" Than how come as a parent, I am discouraged to take disciplinary action when my child cannot use his Ipad with sufficient responsibility?
Anybody who come out with a different opinion about this program got tagged in \"Against the technology trend\". Really? We are against the technology trends?
A knife is a good tool, we always use it to cut fruits. Do I let a 5 years old uses it to cut apple? No, I don't. So I am against using knife?
After a year into the program, one has already proven that one is not capable of handling the Ipad responsibly. So one must first learn how to be responsible before the problem is getting out of control.
I asked about how to opt out, not asking the school to stop the program. Your trend goes on as a school, we need some time to catch up. That's all. -

I suggest that you talk to the school, probably the form teacher about opting out. I think it is not that simple. What if the whole class is using ipad and getting their teaching material through ipad and what is your kid going to do?
My solution is that the school has a class to put together kids that can't handle ipad responsibly and guide them to catch up first without ipad, then....maybe limited use and so on...
Hope this helps. -
does anyone know the punishment of being late? If they reached sch at exactly 730am, r they consider late?
