sinoboy:
MAS uses a strong exchange to curb inflation and not interest rate. Asking them to change this is unlikely. Hammer can probly only make noise on Coe or housing which is huge part of inflation. So it is probly easier for you to ask for higher increment from your boss. :scared:

Boss will tell you company revenue in US$, but your salary in S$, so sorrie har. :nosebleed:

After one or two more GE, more hammers are seated probably the confidence of our economy might wane; so we can start to enjoy high interest rate.
Too chim lah, just say: a flat economy surely no inflation :imcool:

But hor, why the last time (like the 80s & 90s) inflation not as high wor?

When inflation was high then interest rate was also high. Now inflation high interest rate is still low only our S$ high so more money come here and make inflation higher. Can't imagine if one day interest rate here goes very high. :scared:
Think you got it the other way round. Keeping S$ high actually hurts our economic growth as it hurts export, but high S$ helps to control runaway inflation because we import a lot of things. MAS needs to strike a balance, and at the moment it worries more about inflation than hurting exports, hence the high S$.

Yah. If all these foreign people with their newly minted US$, euro and yen want to come here and buy up our crown jewels, better make them pay through the nose.

Boss say if not happy, 2 million+ FT waiting at the door to replace me at half the cost wor. :rotflmao: He say that if he knew that I'm so troublesome, he would hire someone who is single (no child care leave), ugly (so not going to get married) and female (no reservist). {ok ok, I made all that up.} šŸ¦†

It helps keep inflation in check and it makes foreign acquisition cheaper too. I don't exactly know which one is priority. Paiseh. :scratchhead:

Maybe he meant when we go and buy up stuff overseas it will be cheaper.
