CHIJ Family of Schools

My sil's daughter was from St Nic (primary)...the stress is terrible. According to SIL, her poor daughter was so stressed that she cried in school several times. There were also cases of bullying. Police were called in.
As SNGS is one of my choices for my gal as well, some kiasuparents with gals at SNGS pm me that it is very stressful to keep up. So it all depends on how much stress you and your gal can take before you choose a suitable IJ school for her.
As for other IJ schools, they are not SAP. Affiliation doesn't mean they take in all their girls. The COP has been increased to 220 with immediate effect. -

They both share the same secondary affiliation to St Joseph's Convent. No big difference in academic standard in my opinion. I would use distance as the deciding factor.
Is st Joseph's Convent a gd secondary school? -
i am following CHIJ St NICK and realise that only those staying within 1km have a real chance
Does anyone here have a list that identify housing within 1km, e,g which block which condo etc -
Go to SLA website Onemap.sg and search School Query. Those highlighted in red are within 1km.
Be careful of buying Meadows at Peirce as some blocks are outside the 1km radius.
Just be aware that even if you live within 1km, your chances are only less than 50%. So think twice if it’s worth to move. You may get nothing in the end…have Plan B ready.
And if you are not Catholic or grassroots, you effectively only get one chance to ballot at Phase 2C. Also heard that St Nicks has stopped taking in Parent Volunteers from this year. -

St Nick Secondary had gone IP. Many SNGS primary P6 girls keen to enter IP track, need to meet the minimal COP score.
btw, can share what kind of bullying cases took place ? -

The girls wrote answers on their palms and threatened the others to do the same...when caught, all will get punished. Girls strike fear in the timid ones. -

Wow! If I were looking to enroll my dd in this school, this sort of info would give me pause. :yikes: -

do such bullies come from Lower primary (P1 to P3), or Upper primary (P4 to 6) ? -

i am really shocked to hear this. in all the yrs my girls are in st nicks, they hv never encountered unpleasant situation with other girls. i find the girls are generally v well behaved, of course there'll be some difficult ones, but i suppose it's not only limited to st nicks. is this a recent incident? as for the stress, so far it's been pretty manageable.janet_lee88:
