      Cass Clare:
Hi Sweetbaby or anyone can tell me is there any balloting conducted for SC under P2B, 1~2KM in Fairfield Methodist Primary School? Vacancy VS applicants?

      http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?p=804422#p804422

No balloting during P2B. Cut-off at 2 km, i.e. all SCs living within 2 km got in.

Thanks.. But in term of birth rate of yr 2007, mostly will have balloting for 1~2KM in P2B- Fairfield Methodist Primary School. Quite a tough decision..

                  Cases Clare

Not only there are more 2007 kids, I expect there’ll be a rise in new citizens. I won’t be surprised with there’ll be more new schools that have to ballot within 1 km. i’m still looking for backup schools and choices for phase 2cs. Do sc have priority over pr in earlier have like 2b?

SC has pirority as long as balloting occurs.

this round - MOE seminar focus more on schools in Bedok.
it is good for Bedok residence parents or those staying in the east to attend, esp. those in Phase 2C / 2C Supp / Phase 3.

                        those schools listed down -
they will send their representatives Teacher(s) down stationed at the booth, to address any question(s) raised by parents.

                        example:
suppose you are curious / interested in Ngee Ann primary.
                        You can visit their booth.
Ask their English, Maths, Chinese teacher(s) standing there - what does their P1 curriculum cover ? Can they give you advice or tips how to prepare your K2 child, if you decide to enroll in Ngee Ann ? Besides academic, you can also inquire what sort of interesting CCAs do the school have ? eg: Ngee Ann has calligraphy CCA.

Ask any other concern that you have.
eg: if you're Indian but wish that your child can take Chinese as Mother Tongue instead of Tamil, does the school allow ? You can ask the Chinese teacher there. (if she happen to be there)

think some of you are torn between choosing Tanjong Katong primary or Ngee Ann primary - esp. those staying in Marine Parade vicinity. Some of you also considering Opera Estate primary, St Anthony Canossian Convent, etc. This is the best time for you to visit the seminar, clear up your doubts and concern by speaking to the various Teacher(s) there. Worthwhile to go !

Yes, there'll be another seminar, but it's for another zone / area next time.
MOE will let us know later.
