Congrats to the boy. Always please to hear of high achievement from students.
Thanks!! He loves the people, school etc. BTW, do you know if RIJC streams the JC1 students depending on their results? That is, the best students in A class etc. šŸ˜„

Yes. Streaming is carried out for students joining RI-senior high from other schools.

Those with 8A1s and above are placed together with students with gpa of 3.7 and above from RI and RGS.

I found the list according to the cut-off points for the batch of JC1s that came in 2012.

Of course, this year(2013), I hear that this list has become slightly different also - but MOE has not revealed this.

Well, I have 3 more years before Gal#1's turn to choose jc or poly

In this context, the word 'partial' means a proportion of those with similar score gets in. That's why students need to ensure that they meet the preceeding year cop before placing the school as top option.

Top students must decide between RI and HCI.

Where did you get those COP from?

Don't think there is, rules of thumb is those with the lower law score will get in first.(7-4 will get in first versus 8-5 etc.) However, I heard that there is balloting in RI this year for all nett 3 points and no longer based on this low raw score. Can anyone confirm this?

COP is based on nett off bonus points ( 2 for cca and 2 for HMT ), from raw score, L1R5. Therein lies the importance of cca and HMT.

In this instance, i haven't factored in the lower tier jcs which are:

                  Innova JC
                  Jurong JC
                  Pioneer JC
                  Serangoon JC
                  Tampines JC
                  Yishun JC

Students that are unable to gain admittance to the better jcs can vie for the above places. As long as a student qualifies for jc, there's a school caters for him/her.

For reasons, i did not include Millenia Institute in the above as it is a pre -u centre which runs a 3-year A-level programme.
Affiliation also got 2 bonus points can be used to nett off from law score L1R5. Friend's daughter got 9-6 =3!

The total bonus of affiliation, HMT and CCA is capped at 4.

The only way to get additional bonus is to apply to enroll in CLEP, MEP or AEP (chinese language/music/art elective programmes).
