Yes. someone already discussed the different alternatives which people should have a choice.

Our productivity has not even reached the level of developed nation and there is still room for improvement. 5% GDP growth due to 5% population increase isn't going to give existing citizens a better quality of life. But a 1-2% GDP growth due to productivity increase will lead to better life even with 0% population growth.
Solli hor. White paper already got caveat \"Up to 2020, if we can achieve 2% to 3% productivity growth per year (which is an ambitious stretch target)...\"

      If cannot, then... :faint:

Beyond 2020, lagi more susa. Depends on all sorts of external environments like how the competition is doing compared to us. :nailbite:

I suppose we can go back to being a laid back fishing port. But I'm told by those who actually go out to sea that the fish around here are mostly gone already.

Is it a promise the economy would be in the positive territory with more immigrants and you the peasant would benefit the most?

On your last sentence, don't understand your logic.

No, it is never a 100% promise, but at least we try, a good odds at 90%. Now that's a A*

        Don't try, ZERO!

I didn't see the 90% in the White Paper. You are the Minister? You are now telling me that?
Kudos that you actually read the White Paper... These last 15 years, while you we're holding your breath from the stingy armpits, you were actually comfortably supplement by the economy growth lar.... only you failed to recognize it, nia nia.

Or else what is those souls irking you like your earlier post?

Is it enough said that it works?
Making more assumptions, aren't you? To the point I got comfy supplements from the economic growth! Don't think your future post warrant a reply from me.
Yap! It same like saying my tax is paying for this that this that thus I have a say.... 🤷 nobody actually knows what goes to what... Do you?!

If you care to know, our taxes, duties, levies, etc; barely enough to pay xxx% of our yearly Budget, nia nia...

By the very humble way, a lowly construction worker with stinky armpits are paying quite a lot of levy compares to big group of minimal-income-group aka, tax-exempted-group.

I don't understand why \"laid back fishing port\" is always mentioned with a sarcastic bend. I think Singaporeans are quite a productive lot. For the past few decades, they have put up with the world only tripartite system. See how just a few PRCs drivers will have the gut attempt to challenge the system.

It’s very common to use others as excuses for campaigning their course, ie. those underprivileged, the less fortunate ones…

If you hear their arguments long enough you can sniff something.

You can't stop people for being rich, but you should be able to contain your grudges!

Nobody is stopping who from becoming rich. It is just that the gap has become too huge that a big segment is actually suffering below. we are not talking about good life here, it is about the suffering segment that is getting larger.

People don't suffer because of others got rich, may be only the hearts got hurt?!

Others got rich do not mean that you can't get rich, nor you can't make a decent living.

Identify the source of your unhappiness, things would just get by. :boogie:

Shall we have 0.00% population growth between now and 2030?

Sigh. That's the question they forgot to ask themselves. Everything also they want, only don't know how to justify. Hence no answer!
