Yes there is still. DC in DS's P6 class are still carrying on as if life is normal :imcool:
No need to start the stress so early, remain calm :imanangel:
Learn a few deep breathing techniques and just relax :rotflmao: -
Just relax:
P6 is a marathon year, not a 100 metre sprint, please don't press the button on the pressure cooker so early in the year, if not, the child will frizzle out..especially in the last term, it's uphill all the way. That's when the school piles on the test papers (after the prelims) and our poor kids have to do until past midnight, and they really get sick and immune from doing so many test papers.Yes there is still. Even now in the first term, with all the homework coming in, there's not much time to sit down and do revision by the hour. Just pockets of 15 minutes here and there, to explain the mistakes in their school worksheets and consolidate those concepts. Taking small steps is good enough. Build little by little..
Another thing is to put the relationship before the grades. When DS was going through PSLE last year, I reminded myself consciously to speak to him calmly and with a smile; never lose my cool with him, shout or show my anxiety. The relationship with our pre-teens is more important. As I journey with him last year, our relationship became much closer. Even now in Sec 1, he still holds my hand when we go out together and he tells me about things in his new school happily. I'm enjoying the mother-son friendship before he gets too 'grown-up' haha

DS doesn't seem to have time to practise at allI will still let ds continue his sports n music. Just that no music exams this year till after psle. But he will still hv to practice everyday if possible, if not, will be back to square one.
doing his weekly sports is also a form of break for him.
Now he's already rushing school & tuition work till 11pm every night.
Maybe its his time management but I am not home to supervise him during the day so really dunno wat is happening before I reach home

My son took his PSLE last year also had tons of homework to clear everyday & finished his homework at 11pm. He had to stay back after school for supplementary lessons till 4.30pm on certain days & had tuition the rest of the days. Your child will have a long 3 months break from Oct to Dec after the PSLE. Try to catch up with some rest over the weekends & avoid being burn out. -
perhaps still in early stage? My DD cant stay until so late. I can see she is really tired. So go to sleep after finish her homework, luckily not much at this moment.
wonder how can she cope when teachers load them with tons of homework at later stage  -

Oh dear, I see a number of KSP's mentioning long hours of homework, but my DS and his friends appear to have very little homework about 1-2 hours per day, only on weekends have to do 2EL and 2HCL compos!! which was very stressful!

Same here. As far as I can see, homework is still managable at this point but DS is already tired after a long day. Spend the rest of the evening finishing up homework and totally exhausted after that. Not to mention extra time to revise...with the low energy, he is not productive in doing more. I wonder how he is going to cope when the 'real work' is in.perhaps still in early stage? My DD cant stay until so late. I can see she is really tired.
