:salute: Me....i would glad go through it again.SarChar:
If i were to re-lived it despite burning midnight oil, i would gladly do so! It was soooooooooo fun! :please:
I cried when i have to sell away the flashcards :faint: Seller felt bad about me letting go and DH thinks i am siao and emotional :siao:
I dont think people understand the hardwork that went into doing those cards. -

I think that it's good that you have gone through so much efforts to help your children
Same same here! :hi5: :please: i am very pro at flashcards too. Even sacrificed every night (burning midnight oil) just to make flashcards! Haha those were the days. English, chinese, maths, music, knowledge cards etc. We used to flash 10 cards per theme and we have at least 15 themes. Those were fun days. :please:SarChar:
I gave some comments on Flashcards at another link on KSP. Here's what I wrote, now edited to suit this topic discussion.
I am very pro on flashcards. I do know some parents are not but I AM.
DD2 was 16 months when she attended Shichida and she stopped just before 5 YO.
Over the years, I made more than 2000 flashcards. I spent 4-5 hrs every Friday nite for years to make those cards. We flashed twice daily morning/before bedtime, each time 200-300 cards.
No point spending 80 bucks per lesson/week if you dont make the extra effort with your kids at home to do similiar actitives on daily basis.
Today....she is very focused on whatever she is doing and has mega memory. Because it was easy for her to remember what her teachers had taught her, she knows Hanyu Pinyin and can read around 5yrs old. She also enjoys school very much and teachers have commented on her progress positively.
In short, parents need to understand/appreciates and believe in Shichida's program.
Yeah agreed, there are positive results. Both my DS have great picture memory. We so love the linking memory activities. The mandala was so fun too. If i were to re-lived it despite burning midnight oil, i would gladly do so! It was soooooooooo fun! :please:
I cried when i have to sell away the flashcards :faint: Seller felt bad about me letting go and DH thinks i am siao and emotional :siao:
Recently, I went for a talk about cognitive learning/training. It's good!

Hi, would like to ask if any of your children have been selected for Meet the Genius session or if any of you have attended such a session before? My son has been selected to present at a "Meet the Genius" session. We have not decided what he should present yet. Wondering what the session is like, e.g. is it usually well attended, is it just the child’s presentation or is there Q&A session, etc? Thanks.

I heard about this method and was encouraged to sign up for my 6month babe. Don’t wanna stressed her out at this age but was told it boosts her learning. Any advice?

sent my gal over to SM since 3m ago when she was 1yo..
term 1:
learning to stand, doesnt wanna sit still, kept wanting to stand up on the chair. gotta make her sit on my lap as she is not strong enuff to stand up. Not really focusing too.
term 2 (juz started):
finally trained her well on not to stand on the chair.
But she is now learning to walk, doesnt wanna sit on the chair too! wanna stand on the floor. Not really focusing too, wanna go see the posters on the back.. sigh. so far din see her walking ard yet, maybe oso dun dare to.
Now trying to train her to sit on the chair while i do flash cards with her at home. Probably will try the 5 mins method too.
read quite a no of success stories from parents ‘enduring’ the kids running ard, not focusing or doing activities to able to sit and focus in classes. Really hope i can overcome these challenges with my gal soon. -
Hi Charlotte,
I guess all kids react differently.
But do remember, for right brain training, parents also got to do home training with their kid to make the training effective.
Perhaps you can go online to look for right brain education materials.
:rahrah: -
It is pretty normal for kids to walk around.
DD2 enjoyed her class very much but after more than 1 yr, when we had a new teacher at a new term, she refused to attend the class and we simply just let her sit OUTSIDE the class until the class ended. We paid a term money for NOTHING. -
@pinkiepirate: I haven't logged in here for a long while. Great that your boy's presentation session went well!
