      Hi ahkeong,

Who knows our kids are classmates.. Hahaha.. Anyway, I need advise on the enrichment programmes tat were provided by the sch.. I'm not sure if it's gd.. Previously I've enrolled my kid for their music classes and I hv no time to go 'spot checks' to see if the class was gd.. Watever tat was so called promised, I dun see those materials coming.. But I din discontinue him as I see tat's the only enrichment tat he can participate for his age..

Parents, pls share w me more info.. Thank you!!! =D

lol there are many my first skool, dunno if they provide same courses..

we just enrol our DS2 to go for an enrichment program again, but class to start or not depends on whether they have enough pupils.. wat we like abt my first skool is they really let kids express themselves, they have many handicraft works and even their graduation concert is much nicer, with plays and speeches.. unlike pcf which is so boring!!!

Hahaha.. True also.. Juz wana find out fm u, how much is the half day care charged at MFS?? Mine is full day since toddler to N1 and I might consider to switch to be like urs.. Is there alot of handicraft works?? I dun see my kid doing any!!! Everyday is drawing nonsense on paper only.. Hahahaha.. Even when I send him for music enrichment classes recommended by his sch, he din benefit as much as I've sent him 2 Gymboree classes.. I seriously doubt wat r the teachers doing 2 my child all these while.. Some are not very attentive..

My boy just started to learn to write numbers and alphabets as he only started school this Jan. He still can’t read on his own yet.

For 4 years old, it is the peak period where you can cultivate their creativity. If you miss this peak period, it’s hard to make up for it. You can read up on books about early childhood creativity for children. When my child was 4, I admitted that I bought the whole shelf of assessment books home. Till date, some of those books only did a few pages. I believe that to develop a child’s creativity, you can’t stifle a child with too much worksheets to do. Allowing the child to explore in arts is a good way to increase creativity in the child. I only started Peter and Jane books with my child after she turned 5. She picked up very fast and willing to read and learn eagerly. It’s just like potty training, if you start too early, you spend a long time to train the child. Starting later not only allows one to have a more relaxed attitude towards potty training but in training a child to stay dry at night in a matter of 2 weeks. Learn to follow a child’s pace. By forcing a child to do something when the child is not ready can backfire and slow down progress. Any child will learn and pick up speed in learning when the child is developmentally ready. Meanwhile, enjoy your children’s precious childhood spent with you.

                        hi, mummies and daddies!

I’m new here, needed some advice with regards to my little advanced reader on how to further engage her and stimulate her .

My gal is 3.5 yrs old now,she started reading independently when she was about 2 yrs old, and before she turned 3, she was reading the Little Men series on her own. she has a very strong interest in reading and language, will pick up anything and read, like recipe books, encyclopaedia, even watsapp mssg.

She can read Mandarin as well, know to speak some Malay from my helper, as well as some Hokkien from my in-laws.

She is attending Berries, music and swimming classes now, on top of her full day child care class.

I would like to know if there is any courses/ classes in Spore that can stimulate kids like her in this area?

                        Thank you in advance!
