Traffic police and mediacorp can make a short documentary to teach people how to cross the road…road safety tips, the dos and the don’ts.

Also teach youngsters not to walk on the road with ear plugs…loud music blasting into their ears. Cross the road safety…at zebra crossings…do not assume right of way every time and neglect own safety.

Donkey years ago when Jack Neo and Moses Lim were still with MedicCorp, there was a mini sitcom which protrayed what was the issues in the neighbourhood then in one of the 8pm variety shows. Issues raised included lacking of social skills among the general public.

Sadly, we do not find these anymore. Moreover, the target audience might not be watching TV anyway.

Seriously, TRAFFIC POLICE should do something to educate the elderly, the adults, maids and the children about road safety. With more drivers on the road, there is an urgent need, not forgetting those who do not drive often…for eg people who rent cars for CNY.

There is a Road Safety Park. Some schools participate in the activities to teach road safety to school children.
Oh yeah! I totally forgot about this park! Does it still exist? Do schools still organise these trips?

                    Yah so sad.

This news made me rethink allowing DD to cross the road on her own.

Just reading the news report brings tears. They are good kids so full of life & have a loving family... 😢

Their parents are magnanimous & I wish them well. :salute:

i stayed near there, that junction is very accident prone. withnessed many times.in fact, there is another car accident happened at the same junction yesterday noon

told my kids and maid to be exact careful when usind that junction
i see many heavy vehicles using that road.

                        * sometimes i feel safer to walk further up and jaywalked..at least i just have to look out for one side traffic and not left, rigt and back when using the junction 😞
