think Gay might have stepped on somebody's toe, in his work.
So whoever want him to be hurt badly - is at the losing end. -
Somebody asked me this. Is having an EMA sufficient ground for internal disciplinary action? And is a mere failure to declare that lover is working for a sub-contractor to the tenderer sufficiently grave to warrant dismissal from public service especially when he did not take part in the decision to award the contract? Dunno the answer. :?

I still feel that he is at the losing end as so what he was acquitted, he still need to pay his hefty lawyer fees? and also the entire Singapore knows he has an affair. So his \"face\" value might not be worth as before.
In terms of what he has gained.... forgiveness from the wife???? that is between them and only they know the real situation behind the closed door. Free service by CS? -

i think so too....He probably has offended someone in his workplace, likelihood is woman....Nvr offend a woman...u nvr know -
No lah, not a woman. Those in the service will know who. The fact that he still has the professional respect of many of his subordinates and colleagues says a lot.

pirate,
hope you don't mind me being mischievous here.
IMO, part of the reason why civil servants have been given a hammering left right and centre of late, is because of all this baying for blood for even the slightest perceptions of conflicts of interest. There is one particular case I know of (which came up in the press), where there was a real travesty of justice when a government officer was sacked for not declaring a related party in a transaction involving the department, even when the officer was not personally involved in the transaction. All for the sake of saving face for the public. That's how the heads of departments are feeling these days.
People need to get off this conflicts-of-interest high horse, or these types of injustices (including NBG perhaps) will keep occurring. -
